Hi guys and gals,

I'm beginning some research for a university project on Poetry and Illustration and how poetry can be represented visually. I figured the zines community would have some beautiful examples of just that idea and thought I'd put a shout out to you all. Do you illustrate poetry? Are you a poet who has had their work illustrated? What's your opinion on visual representation of poetry? Do you have a favourite example?

If you'd like to answer some questions for me or you have examples of illustrated poetry, give me a bell! I'm happy to buy zines with poetry/illustration so let me know if you make them!

Having a goofy little time and putting together a small quarter-sized lit mag. Looking for poetry and flash fiction, mostly. It's called Modicum, looking to collect small, short, and charming work, and the first issue's theme is Trees. Head to the Modicum page to find the guidelines and all!

I hope you're well!

Hey ya fellow poets!,

We're currently gathering material for SADWRN, an international new polyglot zine on poetry, speculative fiction/general speculation and comics, that will be published world and webwide around February.

Right now we're looking for your bright poetry to illuminate our lives and minds. We already count with poetry in English and Welsh, as well as with interviews with Les U. Knight (founder of the VHEMT, http://www.vhemt.org/), J.L. Pardo (philosopher and Spanish translator of Guy Debord's 'La societé du spectacle') and José Carlos Fernandes (http://jcfernandes.carbonmade.com/), texts by Weird Fiction (http://weird-fiction.net/) and more.

Feel free to submit your bold distilled poetry (preferably in English, Spanish, Greek or Welsh) to alvaromielgogallego@hotmail.com, or contact me here on WMZ.

I have a new poetry zine out called suicide notes. I wrote suicide notes to friends and family in poem-form and put them together for readers' reading pleasure. I would love to trade for other poetry zines / chapbooks. Please comment on my page if you're interested.

I want to make another poetry zine and another haiku zine. I was thinking it would be fun to include some works from other writers and not all by me. If you may be interested, please send me a message!
Comment by KEROUAC'S DOG MAGAZINE on May 7, 2010 at 1:15am
Kerouac’s Dog Magazine ® is a brand-spanking new, independently published quarterly magazine set to form a bold and exciting creative platform for new writing, design, photography, fashion and plenty more. It’s inspired by Jack Kerouac and the 1960s Beat generation and in honour of these, will eagerly exhibit the newest and bravest work and folios, from creatives all over the world. All tied up with key themes of freedom; truth; beauty; love; travel; wanderlust; sex; taboo; and fringe. The whole thing will be beautifully designed and printed top-to-bottom in black and white (because we have a passion for all things black and white).

Issue 1 needs you – The very first Issue. ‘Freedom’ will be released as a limited print-run later in the year, and available to buy online, to a global audience. So we’re calling on creatives for submissions on this theme and this theme only. As the whole thing is in black and white, the only stipulation is that the stuff you send needs to be in – or look gorgeous in - monochrome. It can be old work, or new work, we don’t mind. We won’t be able to pay you, but we’re happy to put names and URLs with each submission used so please send these through, along with your work.
In the subject line, please put KDM FREEDOM followed by your name and creative discipline. Remember all image and graphics need to be at least 300dpi. What are you waiting for? Please get in touch.

My boyfriend's 1st zine which I designed the cover! We are going on a Northwest tour of the United States for activism and.. just plain exploring. It is a 32 page, poetry book. Here's some information from him:

In May I plan on visiting fusion centers in 6 different states in the Northwest United States. I will hopefully be speaking at activist trainings along the way also. Instead of going the normal route of asking for donations to fund the entire trip, I want to go a different route. I just finished binding my first poetry zine entitled, I Left Blues City, but the State of Misery Didn't Leave Me. If you buy a copy for $4, all of that money will go to funding my trip.

The zine is a 32 page poetry book I personally put together with the help of Volthair. The poems were written between 2006 and 2008. You can buy the book through Paypal. When you send the money, just give your full mailing address. If you would like to donate more to my trip fund, I added a donate button below the pay now button. I will have a finalized budget for the trip shortly.

To buy or donate go here:

OR you can contact me for a copy! email me at volthair at gmail dot com. shipping is a dollar around the states and 2 dollars everywhere else.
