DIY Postcard Exchange

 

Who: You! Me! Us! We!

 

What: An international mail-art DIY postcard exchange! Sign up & join in on the fun!

 

Where: Around the world!

 

When: June 22 all addresses of participants will be distributed, ship all postcards on Friday July 13^th!

 

Why: Because your mailbox is empty, that makes you sad…& you need yet another summer project!

 

How: Sign up by sending your mailing address to Deirdree Prudence  (“Buggle Sweet” on Facebook) or email it to PeterLorreIsDead@gmail.com. On June 22^nd everyone’s addresses will be sent to all participants. It’ll be a flurry of art & crafting – make enough handmade postcards for everyone! THEN on Friday July 13^th, mail your postcards to everyone on the list! If you send out 23 postcards, 23 postcards will be carried by the owlish postmasters of the world to your mailbox!

PENPALS UNITE!!

It has been far to long since I have had a trusty penpal.

A bit about me: I am 26 years old and enjoy keeping myself busy. I love to go to shows, dance dance dance, make tasty vegan food, travel, discuss politics here and there, bike around aimlessly, work-out to old-skool vhs tapes. I reside in Portland, OR (some say a mecca zinster-heaven). All this is fine and dandy, however, I am interested in establishing penpal relations with others. An idea I had was to share photos of street art amongst mail with potential penpals. Hand-made postcards is something that I would love as well! <3

Perhaps we could share favorite zine titles or even trade! I am open to all possibilites and potentials!

Hi, my name is Lottie. I'm female and will be 15 in august. I live in Scotland. I'm interested in zines but have got to find the time/stop wasting time and officially start one. I love music, particularly punk and alternative rock. I'm bisexual/queer and interested in LGBT issues. I like art. I also love languages- growing up in a family of translators-ish. I love to read and write and i have a small obsession with certain bands and the old Frankenstein movies. I'm very silly most of the time.

I think there is a certain charm and nostalgia about being pen-pals...

I'm interested in the paranormal, science-fiction and outer space along with sewing (and pretty much any other handicraft you can imagine), learning to play the ukelele and reading huge amounts of manga, particularly the gory stuff. I write poems and stories, often of a dark, absurd, fantasy, or sci fi nature. I have a dry sense of humor, and enjoy entertaining others. I love rock music, especially the harder rock groups. My name is Neil, Im 31 and have been making zines since 15! I write a fanzine about the love for old horror films. I also love music (post hardcore, post punk, grunge, experimental) so love mixed CDs and making my own music. Im a comic geek(reading and writing) have morbid interests and sense of humour. i'll be moving to nyc, by next year. meanwhile, i figure i can write to people, like form a tight pen-pal relationships, with those who already live there? good idea, no? i hope whatever. i like writing, shit-cartooning, generally just making things, music, and drinking. (beer, milkshakes, chocolate milk, 40oz.s etc.)
