Hi, thought I'd introduce myself. I am a long time writer working on my first zine, looking forward to meeting lots of new people.

I'm not a newbie...But I wanted to let people here know that I publish a zine called What's A Zine? http://www.etsy.com/listing/44399479/whats-a-zine-a-little-guide-to...
It covers the basics of paper zines and has some little interviews with zinesters about how they got started in zines, etc.

NEW DISTRO: currently accepting zines for consideration!

We're into a bit of everything right now: activism, art/design/illustration, comics, the dark & the bizarre, eco-friendly guides, feminism & gender issues, kid-friendly zines (yeah, why not?), how-to guides, literary/fiction, mental health, vegan, and perzines about these topics too. but you can check the full topics list here.
Or check my blog post for all the info!
thanks :)

Well, I'm currently working on my first (technically second but I just need to rehaul it completely, it's got such a blah boring design) zine, it's a perzine called THE UNIVERSE AND YOU: AN OWNERS MANUAL [falling in and out of love with holden caufield], and it should be done in a few weeks! Id love to do a trade :D

Hey fellow noobs! I'm currently making my first zine - mono memo - a little collection of found sentences with illustrations. Hoping to get my first issue done this next week or so. Anyone fancy swapping nooby zines get in touch, I fancy making little noob parcels for people who are interested!

Quite new here, I'm actually wrapping up the final edit and looking forward to the copy and collate phase within the next week or so. It's a perzine called iPiphaneia...(a play on words-ipod meets the Greek epiphaneia) It's a collection of thoughts and reflections inspired by songs on my playlist in the exact order they played at the time I decided to turn that fateful day into a zine. I'm hoping I'll be so inspired to make it a series.

I just ran off my first draft of my Very First Issue YAAAAAAAAY! It's a collection of drabbles, both autobiographical and fictional, some a little of both.

I hope to have the first issue all together by the end of Feb and get it out to distros and such. I'm also into leaving a few in public places- has anyone had any experience with that?

Um, um, um, yes-
I'm new too! :-D

I got into zines looking for independent comics / printed webcomics (I like those!) a few weeks ago and though I'd give this a try! (It's so exciting and creative!)
The only thing I've made so far, is a small guide for myself on what NOT to do and tips I've found around the web. It's just a small 1/4 folded paper.

I am planning to do a comic/text zine on running...in a very broad sense...in, to and away. Yes yes.

I got introduced to zines through some creative writing classes. In the first one, we put together a class zine. Next time we had one of those classes, there wasn't enough interest to do a group zine, but we were encouraged to do our own. I started one, then fizzled out on the project. Then I took a college class, and we were required to each do our own zine, so I was ahead of the game. That was spring of this year. I'm working on my next one and plan to have it done by July 1 of next year. Plenty of time, but this one is a work of self-therapy, so I wanted to give myself plenty of time but be able to have it for next year's Portland (Oregon) Zine Symposium.
