a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I'm in the process of discovering just how many things a zine can be.
What I came here to ask is this: Would any of you be willing to contribute to a baby zinester's collection? My only access to the big wide world of zines is through library computers. I'd like to see some on actual paper (or cardboard, or plastic, or whatever)!
The thing is, I don't have zines to trade. This would be purely an act of charity on your part.
I guess what I'm really looking for is a series of permissions. Zines that show me what's 'allowed', and how wild and crazy or buttoned down and official (and everything in-between) a zine can get.
I'll send ya a copy of my humor zine if you'd like! Just let me know your address. Also, there is a great discussion in the forum called something like "What NOT to do in a zine" that might help you out! Really, there are so many things you CAN do, that it makes more sense to limit yourself on the little things you're not supposed to do. Like create your pages so they don't bleed off the margins, make it legible, stuff like that. Good luck! Can't wait to see your first work.
Have fun creating!
