Hi Zinesters! My name's Dawn. I am a former NYC public high school ESL teacher who taught zine-making to my students. Now, I'm in library school studying to become a community college/academic librarian, hopefully.
Anyway, I am currently in an information literacy pedagogy course, and doing a research process project with the following research question:"How do high school teachers create effective zine projects to help students of all learning abilities improve in their writing skills?"
If any of you have/know of someone who has/or know of resources where I can find information related to this question, please reply to me at the following email address-
email@example.comThanks in advance!

NYC Zinesters: today is International Zine Library Day: a timely time for me to post this call for zines!
We are currently seeking zine donations to the Zine Collection at the Brooklyn College Library. Zines about Brooklyn, zines made in Brooklyn, zines about zines, or other subjects, particularly those related to multi-cultural issues, LGBT culture, or other under-represented viewpoints are all welcomed.
Send TWO copies of each zine if you can- one for preservation (in Brooklyn College Library's archives and special collections) and one for the browsing collection (eventually they may be available for check-out). This way your zine will be preserved for posterity AND accessible by all CUNY students!
questions can be directed to firstname.lastname@example.org
zines can be mailed directly to:

Hello all! just finished the latest issue of my zine, Sowing and Dawning. A personal documentation of various tours and trips and the reflections and introspections involved with living in NYC over the past year.
Two books packaged in a sewn/blockprinted brown paper folder. Text heavy but peppered with plenty of ornamentation and imagery. Very thick. Get in touch!
