a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Friday, March 18 · 8:00pm - 10:00pm
My friend Pete Bryant, an Australian PhD student will be in NYC briefly, and wants to talk to zinesters. http://wemakezines.ning.com/forum/topics/zine-making-research-project. He's not out to put you under a microscope or exploit you. He just wants to have a few beers and chat.
From the Facebook event invite:
The aim of the get together is to have a chat about the research I am doing into why people chose to make zines and the future of zine making generally.
The aim of the research is to look at how people come to make zines and their personal stories of their first exposure to zines and zine making. The main aim of the project is to explore zine making as an art or a media and hopefully help understand how practices such as zines, street art and community radio can survive and continue to flourish in a changing digital and artistic environment.
So, if you are interested in having a good conversation about zine making and zine makers, come along.
