We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Hi all,

I'm opening a shop in Lincoln, NE that will carry zines (as well as small press books, magazines, etc), and I will be in Lawrence this upcoming weekend to visit a friend.  If anyone has any tips as to where to buy zines in Lawrence, please let me know.

Thanks,

Cindy

I'm in KC not Lawrence, but I would suggest Love Garden to start.  It's the best local record store that probably has some music zines and can point you in the right direction.

I'm also curious about your store.

Thanks, Marx. I will check out LG when I am there.

My store... my husband and I are opening a small retail shop here in Lincoln called The Front Stoop in July. Our plan is to mostly carry zines, but there is so much great materials out there to read, so we'll also have small press pamphlets, books, and magazines as well.

If anyone is interested in submitting a sample copy of their zine to me for possible inclusion in our stock (we will pay upfront if we want to carry it), contact me privately.  Soon I will come up with a form and instruction for this, but I haven't done so yet.

try wonder fair, on mass st. it's upstairs from the casbah (burger restaurant). they definitely have a few zines. i wish they had more. you can also check out the solidarity zine library at ECM (1210 oread st., i think). you can't buy zines there, but you can read them. they have a pretty amazing collection.

Wow, cool.  Never heard of either those places.  I should start taking my stuff out there.

Cindy, I don't sell mine but would like to send some if you have a reading area or throw in with another purchase or just give them away.  I wonder if you recognize the music in the videos I uploaded here, it's one of Lincoln's finest. :)

Thanks, Ciara!

Marx - I would definitely be interested in putting out your zines for people to take.

The show is the rainbow! nice!
