Starting a zine fest

Any tips, hints, whatnot on starting a zine fest here in Kalamazoo, Michigan? There are, to my knowledge, no zine conventions in Michigan and with all the colleges and creat8ve people we have in town I think this would be a pretty good place to have one.

OOOOOH! If you do get this up and running I am SO in! I live in Manistee and there is pretty much no zine scene here... Let me know if you want help with this!!!

I'd also love to see this happen --- I'm over in Ypsilanti, but Kalamazoo is but a short train ride away and I'd show up for sure.
