My (fairly) new zine Nearly Healthy contains writing about being diagnosed with an anxiety disorder and depression, and about not feeling in control of things in general, from the perspective of someone who identifies as an anti-capitalist, artist and woman (among other things).

You can buy it from my distro, takecarezines.org, or directly from me at eternalproject@gmail.com, for AU$3, or I accept trades. Please get in touch if you're interested!

I don't want to blow my own trumpet too much, but here's what Luke You wrote about it for Broken Pencil:
"...I just read a zine calld 'Nearly Healthy' and it has honestly changed my life...For me this zine is a masterpiece. It is difficult, heartbreaking, beautiful, wonderful, personal, revealing, at times hopeful and at times bleak. This is a really substantial, serious and important work of art. The zine deals with life and death and I want to publicly thank the zinemaker here for sharing her thoughts. I think this zine has made the world a better place, it has certainly made my world a better place." Thanks Luke! And thank you all.

Anatomical Heart #8 is a perzine / mental health zine.
This issue includes writings on metal illness, my life as a student mental health nurse, rants on meds and therapy, tattoo talk, and some zine reviews.
1/4 size, 24 pages.

I also just finished Anatomical Heart #9 which is a 24 hour perzine, and my first zine not about mental illness! It's 1/3 size, 16 pages.

You can get both for £1.50 in the UK / $3 international (paypal to bettieriot@gmail.com), or message me for a trade!

My zine, Gathered Years, involves mental heath. Issues 1 and 2 briefly discuss depression. I'll probably go more in depth about depression, anxiety, and OCD in future issues. They also discuss a lot of happy things, because I often write them when I'm trying to distract myself from depression/anxiety/etc. :) There's more information and pictures on my page, where you can also find a link to my Etsy shop to get your hands on a copy. :)

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I've finished my first zine. It's called Peach, Plum, Pear and it's a perzine dealing with mental health issues including suicide and self-harm.
It's black and white, half-size, 26 pages and zigzag stitched together with my lovely Bernina sewing machine. There are a few photos of it on my page.
They're £1.50 each or for trade :)

Not Lonely #3 is now available!

Issue 3 is about the fine line between fact and fiction, not throwing things away, being pestered by dodgy men on public transport, (somewhat comically) failing at interviews, insomnia, the reality check of life after university and alternative menstrual products. It's part-handwritten, part-typed and made in a cut-and-paste style with lots of pretty backgrounds and vintage images.

I love trades! Or the price is £1 UK / £1.50 Europe / £2 Elsewhere. Please contact me via my page on here or email not_lonely_zineATyahoo.co.uk if you'd like a copy.

The Oregonian is hoping to rattle some cages (like it did mine) by printing an article about overflow and lack-of-staff issues at Oregon State Mental Hospital in hope that the government will stop furloughs and allow the workers to make up for lost time and space. Patients are telling legislators the hospital is "enveloped in a 'culture of despair.'" This is a serious issue. I have suffered from mental illness for nearly two decades, and I am fortunate all the same that I have never had to be a patient/hostage/prisoner at a State Hospital. Anyone who lives in the Pacific Northwest and gives a flying fuck about the Mental Health System can get a copy of the article from me, as well as a zine I have compiled of Opinion-Editorials of my own that are related to the mental health system. Please send me one of your interesting zines in return.
