Hand Job is a new literary zine that is hoping to show a wide range of new and fresh work. We are looking for experimental writing that grabs our attention

We are looking for new writing in a range of formats

Short Stories
Flash Fiction
Poetry

Or anything piece of writing you would like to submit to make up a new free zine.

We are looking for works that are experimental in form, with a fresh style of writing that will entertain readers.

The subject can be anything at all, as long as it is well written, interesting and for an adult audience. Saying this however, we do encourage pieces of satire and comedy. Say what you want to and not what you think you should.

It can be of any length… within reason.

As well as writing we are also looking for people who either want to help illustrate some pieces of writing or just to have their artwork featured in the zine. 

We are open to all forms of art that can be accessible through our format, so please feel free to e-mail us about any other interesting ideas. We are always open to hearing your great new ideas.

If you feel you can contribute in any way please contact: handjobzine@gmail.com with your work or ideas. We do not open any attachments (all the time), so please put your work in the body of the e-mail.

Cherries In a Reliquary: 28 pages, 1/4-sized, cardstock cover. Nineteen small poems about love, fairy tales, witches, dolls, & other sundry subjects. Your choice of yellow or pink cover. My perzine The Itinerant Postcard #1 also has poems about the Marchesa Luisa Casati. Hearts is a mini prose poem.

Have you ever hosted a traveller before? Volthair #4 is the stranger in the night that you house in your guest room. Coffee and tequila; a mix of stories about couch surfing adventures to a list of embarrassing moments. I wear my heart in my zine, because I believe human connection is art. 

My zines began as an art project; a goal to write about my life and send it to strangers around the world. Over time I realized how writing and reflection enabled me to grow. I've dealt with social anxiety for much of my life and my zines were the first things that allowed me to feel and be heard. My perzines have connected me with so many wonderful people around the world and gave me enough confidence to share with people I know in real life. 

Each zine I publish allows me to observe how my personality shifts and changes. After every story I write, there is a decay period of reflection during the time I prepare for the world to view my zines. By the time you read my zine, I will surely be a different person. I may already regret a few things about what I have written before I even print the zine.

Low and below; Lo and behold; Volthair #4 is the first zine that feels most reflective and accurate of my printed cmyk mind. Kathy 4.0: Polished. This zine contains writings from March 2010 - February 2013. 64 pages. Black and White. Signed and dated on the back. 30 versions available.

Here’s the intro:

“Issue #1 of Vapour Trails was written between the years 2009 & 2011, during the dying & death of an eight year long romantic relationship. Considering the backdrop for a lot of this writing, themes that crop up tend to revolve around loneliness, loss, nostalgia, awakening, and various introspections."

Includes some poetry and poetic-type rants, lots of drawings, lots of emotions.

Im doing a zine of volume of horror stories and i want people to share thier work in the black book, the subject can be whatever but as long the horror element is still in the story, the creepier the better,it can go up four pages long. It can be any word format and send a email  to shanpking@yahoo.co.uk with short paragraph of who you are and whats your story about and why chosen to it, thanks.
