CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS!Paper Monster Press “Dream Pop Issue”After setting the mood with the seductive flair of our "S/Trip-Hop" issue, we will now be leading you into a lovely afterglow with the "DREAM POP ISSUE."Melodies taking you on an out-of-body experience; rhythms wrapping you up in a blanket of spacious soundscapes; and voices resonating like an echo-laden remix of your favorite bedtime lullaby. Dream Pop is the kind of music that keeps you awake yet under the sheets in a trancelike state at any hour of the day. It is atmospheric and ethereal... And that is precisely what Paper Monster's fourth issue is all about. We are calling all literary, visual and sound artists to give us their personal interpretations of DREAM POP in the form/s of:
• LITERARY ART: We accept poetry, literary essays, critical essays, microfiction, reviews of Paper Monster Press issues 1-3, and ekphrasis works.• VISUAL ART: We accept new media art, installation art, abstract expressionism, lowbrow, graffiti, body art, pop art, photography etc. (any kind of visual art, basically).• SOUND ART: We accept sounds that embody dream pop. Think spacious, ambient, steady, atmospheric, ethereal.GENERAL GUIDELINES:1. All works must be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org. Each contributor may submit 3 works ONLY from each category. That means you may submit 3 literary works, 3 artworks, and 3 musical pieces, but no more than that. This is to give space and a chance to others.3. Submissions must be loosely/closely based on the dream pop genre of music.4. The EIC’s laptop is Buddhist, so aside from attaching text submissions, kindly paste the contents of your piece to the body of your e-mail.5. Submit literary pieces in English or Filipino. We do not have the capacity to read and/or translate foreign languages as well as local dialects at the moment. Works should not exceed 500 words.6. Submit artworks in JPEG format. We accept both colored and black or white art, but please be reminded that PMP will only have a colored cover, the rest of the zine will be in black and white.7. Submit sounds in MP3 format.8. I have this great new zine called "Le Stoner's Digest", and you should all go take a look at it ;)
It contains 5 original stories about psycho-maniac murderers with large blades, and you can find it on my etsy shop : http://www.etsy.com/shop/inoxid .
Thanks for your time, and here's the whole drill :
"Le Stoner's Digest is a new fiction zine written by two french dudes ( with some help from Displaced Snail's very own J. Carlough!). It is sleazy, violent, fun, what can i say, it's PULP as FUCK.First issue is about big knives and psycho killers, and you should not let your kids read it. I mean, seriously, why would you give them some cheap-ass zine when they could be entertaining themselves with Cosmopolitan or some cool mag with high-end cars and big boobs?Contains 5 profanity-littered original stories, and plenty of illustrations. 32 A5 pages of gorgeous 120g paper, with a manly 200g cover, and the supplement is a short story by Phillibert Mossberg printed on that awesome but weirdly formatted paper i once found in the street in Paris. True story!"
The Filth's second issue is coming out at the end of April. Lets trade!
I'm gathering material for polyglot collaborative zine SADWRN that'll be published worldwide and webwide around February.
It mainly focuses on poetry, especulative fiction/general especulation and comics. Right now we have interviews with Les U. Knight
(founder of the http://www.vhemt.org/),
with J.L. Pardo (filosopher and Spanish translator of Guy Debord's 'La
societé du spectacle'), and with Portuguese comic author José Carlos Fernandes (http://jcfernandes.carbonmade.com/), poetry in English and Welsh, texts by Weird Fiction (http://weird-fiction.net/), fragments of other works...
We're currently looking for your selfless poetry to tickle & caress our minds, concise, accurate, clear, bright, stunning, lyrical,
resonant, imagist, epic, erotic, prophetic, humourous, satyrical, or
otherwise. Feel free to submit your poetry (preferably in English,
Spanish, Greek or Welsh) to email@example.com in an
attached file, or to contact me here in WMZ.
And if you feel your one/two-page b&w comics may suit our project, feel free to submit them as well.
