Let's Trade Zines!

This is a group designed specifically for trading your zine for someone elses. Post a decription of your zine or contact some people in the group directly!

I realised there wasn't a group on WMZ specific to zine trades so I wanted to get something in place so that people can pool together their interest in trading.

Thanks for making this the biggest group on We Make Zines!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone seems to post a new thread in the forum when they want to share their zines but why not just come to one group where you know people are going to be receptive when you want to share with them!

TO GET STARTED, ADD A COMMENT INCLUDING A ONE-LINER ABOUT YOUR ZINE FOR TRADE AND A ONE-LINER ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE AFTER IN THE TRADE (IF YOU'RE FEELING SPECIFIC)....

Ok now I have "WeeeT! WeeT!WeeT!" ready for trade! It's a guinea pig zine with stories and illustrations of cuteness! And some cold hard reality!

Zine for trade. Art-esque zine "Why is your work so sloppy?" 12 pager composed of snippets from 2nd to 3rd grade and a little beyond. It's hard to describe. It's good though! Message me.

I would love to trade zines! I'm new to making them (have only made one so far) but am working on more. I just love reading other artist's zines and would like to show my work to anyone to get their opinion!

Adam- your line of top ten zines sound interesting! i'd def be interested in having a look when you're done.

my zines include snippets of writing, sketches, thoughts, drawings of animals, typographic illustrations and ideas mainly relating to the idea of attachment/connection/loss/love/lust/that funny feeling you get in your belly when you think someone is heaps amazing.
"The Zoo" - drawings of animals that seemed to be growing inside me when I first met the boy
"Heaps Good At Life" - thrown together in the lovliest way possible, scraps, thoughts, typography, doodles documenting the silliness of life
"The Person You Love is 72.8% Water" - typographically focused with doodles and illustrations documenting the ridiculous things guys have said to me.

trade anyone?

My name is Chantel and I really like to trade zines. I especially like perzines.

Here's what I have to offer:

My latest poetry booklet, Poems for the Year, includes at least one poem I wrote for each month of the year. It is about 20 pages, halfsize.

The Best of Poet-in-the-Box is very silly, a collection of poems I wrote for folks while sitting in a cardboard box at public events. It is also halfsize, about 20 pages.

A Few Words is my first poetry booklet, written nearly five years ago, halfsize, 20 or 24 pages (can't remember).

August in Harveyville, halfsize, 58 pages, about half writing about the month I spent at a writing retreat in an old high school in rural Kansas, and about half poems that I wrote while there.

Send me a message if you are interested in trading and we can work out the particulars.

Thanks, Bird In Hand, for the invitation to join your group.

My zines unfortunately are few and far between, yearly or less, with no definite schedule. My latest is In Between Zine #3. I've been working on Xeens & Things #21 for I don't know how long---too long I'm sure---and just can't say when I'll ever get it done. Weeks, months, who knows?

In Between Zine #3, 8 1/2 x 11, 36 pgs., sidestapled, came out last January, 2008. Typical of my zines it was zine, movie, music and paperback reviews. Most, but not necessarily all, of a horror, darkside, offbeat nature, PG-13 to soft-R rated, adult only in the sense of being, in my opinion, intelligent. Recent issues have gotten a bit more into politics as Dave Szurek (on the Left) engages me (a libertarian) in argument. There's a fair-sized letter column and I often respond.

I also have back issues of JND Pseudo Zine and My Strange Malady, similar in content and style. The JPZ's each have a reprint of an old short horror story I particularly liked.

I'm interested in and enjoy reading about veganism, vegetarianism, libertarianism and self-liberation, ideas & philosophy, the paranormal, unexplained, the obscure, the unusual and offbeat, the darkside, intelligently and insightfully discussed from new angles, not the usual faire. I'm not that much into extreme gore, at least not the more modern stuff. I'm also interested in DIY printing, old, simple, retro technology, trading, bartering and networking, especially via the papernet/USPS, and older documentaries & documentary series from TV.

I like dense zines, thick or thin, about peoples' convictions, passions and struggles. I like lots of ads & contacts, especially reachable through p-mail. I don't mind small print, and even have certain fondness for it.

But---being a mail junkie, in solidarity with and support of my fellow mail junkies, I welcome any and all trades in a spirit of camaraderie. I'll trade one or multiple zines at a time, current or back issues. Not meaning to count beans are be all stingy, but I would ask for comparable trades of size, page number, volume, etc. Please note IBZ's page size, etc. above. Even 50% of that from you would be okay. It doesn't have to be an exact trade, just something a bit more than a 4-page mini.

If you want to e-mail me first, that's okay, but you can also just send me something at my physical address below.

THANKS!
