I realised there wasn't a group on WMZ specific to zine trades so I wanted to get something in place so that people can pool together their interest in trading.

Thanks for making this the biggest group on We Make Zines!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone seems to post a new thread in the forum when they want to share their zines but why not just come to one group where you know people are going to be receptive when you want to share with them!

TO GET STARTED, ADD A COMMENT INCLUDING A ONE-LINER ABOUT YOUR ZINE FOR TRADE AND A ONE-LINER ABOUT WHAT YOU'RE AFTER IN THE TRADE (IF YOU'RE FEELING SPECIFIC)....

Who wants to trade? My zine is about pretty much everything. I write from a riot grrrl, feminist, American-Italian perspective.

Amy-I don't. I just thought it would be an interesting experience to put myself out there instead of shying away from the experience all together, as is normal for me. Strictly an experiment in which I am now sharing with the zine world. My next quest I am thinking of doing in to not wear make-up for 40 days.

However, to answer you question more clearly: I would like to find a mate some day and end up getting married and having a family, I just need to put myself out there first.

Meaghan- why will you need to find a "mate"? have you ever read the white blackbirds zine by Katie Heagle?

I'm almost done with one about all the weird events in my life. I just need to part where the Navy Men's Glee Club comes to our school.

I have just comepleted issue #1 of Quest: find a man in 40 days (the first five days). It's about my struggles with accepting the fact I will one day need to find a so called "mate" and accepting people for who they are instead of their potential. It's also has a haiku about my dog, Seven, a piece about my love for self pity, and much more.

I love trades of any kind: a letter, a post card, a zine, magazine clippings. Just shoot the bullet and send me a message.

:)

Zines I currently have available for trade are:

'It happened in the Star & Shadow' Story-zine made by 8 people during a collaborative story-making day at this volunteer-run cinema in Newcastle upon Tyne. Sci-fi porn, Western hi-jinx, zombie romance in the projection room etc..

Bothy Zine - hand-written/sketched zine of a tour of the Bothies in Northern England. Square shape, quite thick at 28 pages. Printed September 2009.

Roman Philosophers Zine - just a wee A6 zine about some anti-Roman rebels who happened to be philosophers. Musonius is my favourite, but Diogenes the Cynic is the coolest. August 2009.

Shed Zine - a v.short (double-sided A4) cartoon true story about a shed that appeared on my allotment. Spring 2009.

Zine from my childhood - memories, cartoons drawn at the age of 7 etc.. Just 5 left to get rid of! Cheaply printed, but lots of people really liked it so one day I'll re-copy it. January 2009.

The Secret Anarchist History of Newcastle - Spring 2008, made for an anarchist film festival. Local history, probably the best-made zine I've done.

If you ask very nicely I might let you have a George zine too (about a blind cat I used to live with).

Even without a trade, send me an SAE to Mike, 42 Curtis Rd, NE4 9BH in the UK and I'll put some of these in there for you! xx

Just finished Issue 1 of my new zine Ordinary. There's a few sample shots on my profile. It's half sized, 12 pages. There's a poem and a story, and some thoughts about life. And it's pretty! I promise.

Going for $2, or trade. prefer trade! I like poetry, but really anything goes.
