I realised there wasn't a group on WMZ specific to zine trades so I wanted to get something in place so that people can pool together their interest in trading.

Everyone seems to post a new thread in the forum when they want to share their zines but why not just come to one group where you know people are going to be receptive when you want to share with them!

Comment by Eric Nelson on June 26, 2009 at 9:47am: I have a few zines to trade, issues 1, 2, 3 and 3 1/2 of a series of literary zines called "The Silk City Series," a series of short stories meant to be read in one sitting. They're half size and generally 10-15 pages. Issue 3 1/2 is a small catalog of found objects.
I also have a personal quarter size zine called "Cup and Saucer Chronicles" that's a collection of short essays on writing, travel, the meaning of home and Staten Island. Email me at ericnelson83 (at) gmail.com

They include ALLiance a journal of theory and strategy #'s 1 and 2, Papers of the Libertarian Left #1, and Canning for the 2009 Really, Really Free Market. Papers of the Libertarian Left #2 will be available soon. A sneak preview is available on Scribd. Scribd also allows you to download everything for free.

There are three dreams. There are lots of poems. And there are book reviews and zines reviews of just about everything I read during the months I was collecting prose and poetry for the zine.

It's digest-sized and 32 pages, very text heavy.

The zine has 33 pages and is 5 1/2 x 8 1/2.

I will for sure take trades for it. (I love trades.)

Here's a description from the front cover:

"Contemplation on identity, sexual orientation, bisexuality, queerness, gender roles, and the possibility of liberation"

Comment by Mab on May 14, 2009 at 7:55pm: I finished issue #8 of RatBrat yesterday! Well, the editing and cut & paste portion. I'm going to be copying it tomorrow. This issue is more fun than issue #7 and talks mostly about body image, including my feelings about my own body, a list of creative ways to combat negative body image, and a piece on bindis as a form of body decoration. I also talk about labels, belonging, and my own interpretations of the words "bisexual" and "bicurious." Threw in a few poems I wrote a couple months ago and cool photos I've taken recently, which were added as filler because I drastically overestimated my needed page count.

Speaking of pages...somehow my first quarter size zine came out PERFECTLY. Thus, I decided to make another one. Agh...this time I messed up the page numbering, so the last few pages of the zine are out of order. They still make sense, but it's funny when you see it go from page 49 to 52 to 51, etc. I also have four random, blank pages in the middle, a mishap which I believe came from the way I glued everything. Just a heads up to everyone who reads it.

Comment by Briana on May 9, 2009 at 2:46pm: Issue #1 of Contradictory gives you a bit of insight as to who I am. How others see me compared to how I see myself. It talks about my problems in dealing with self-harm and other related issues, and it talks about dealing with the recent loss of a friend and how that's changed my perspective on life. Not very text or image heavy - a quick read. 16 pages, quarter size.

I'm interested in trading for other perzines, or zines with yummy vegan recipes. If you're interested in trading for my zine we can definitely work something out, just contact me :)

ABSENT PRESENT takes an anti-moderntity / Outsider stance - includes an article on horror and the aesthetics of the abject, a review of Eric Drooker's anarchist artwork, the remake of the film 'Funny Games' (and the audience as a voyeur), creepy nihilistic fiction.

CATS TEETH is a perzine which pieces together fragments from my collection of diaries. The first issue is themed 'Mislead Me' and focuses on power relations in love and sex, innocence and corruption, dark fantasies.
