a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Let's Trade Zines!

This is a group designed specifically for trading your zine for someone elses. Post a decription of your zine or contact some people in the group directly!

Members: 688
Latest Activity: on Sunday

I realised there wasn't a group on WMZ specific to zine trades so I wanted to get something in place so that people can pool together their interest in trading.

Thanks for making this the biggest group on We Make Zines!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Everyone seems to post a new thread in the forum when they want to share their zines but why not just come to one group where you know people are going to be receptive when you want to share with them!

New Zine - Like Lightning #2

Like Lightning #2 - 1/4-sized, 24 pages, blue opalescent card-stock cover with gold lightning bolt decal.

Like the first issue, Like Lightning #2’s format is inspired by Anne Carson’s “Short Talks”—brief vignettes on various topics. Unlike the first issue, #2 shares snapshots of a single story. Our woman burns down her childhood home, changes her name and hair color and runs away, first south, then west, to find a new place and state of existence. Sort of a perzine, sort of a literary zine.

An excerpt:

On Adairs Run

Driving through the mountains fills her with joy and sadness. The angry crags, the ravines, the rusty train tracks cutting through the terrain, the long, winding roads leading off to nowhere, the intersections with two cars, the small, secluded houses, the rundown, clapboard fruit stands teetering over the soft shoulders of Adairs Run. If only she could press down her palm, flatten everything out and then sprinkle a layer of dust, she’d feel as though she’s made it to her Oklahoma. So close, and yet. She see rivers and rusted-out pick-up trucks and people fly-fishing. The sun singes the trees red.

Hi all. I'm Jaime and live in Victoria in Australia. I'm looking to trade issues of Dear Anonymous 1 and 2 or Occupy Melbourne for perzines. (I'm doing a bit of research before I jump in with my own perzine!)

I'm also open to trades for other topics as well, so feel free to pitch whatever if you like the look of my zines. You can check out the details on my page and contact me there or shoot me an email at: theauthor@inkyblots.com

Hi all,

I have a few copies of the 'zine I made when I left therapy hanging about if anyone wants to trade. It's 16 pages including cover A6 sized and entitled 'I am Goodbye'. A large chunk of it is made up of a description of a mix cd I made for the occasion, this is not included. Feel free to message me here or email me (porter.alexander@gmail.com)

I haven't done many trades lately, would anyone care to? Most of my zines are for sale here:

but I'm always happy to trade too. You can reach me on here or orla_foster [@] hotmail.co.uk

HI all,

Mishap #33, Vol. 2 is finished and had to exist because Vol. 1 couldn't contain all the books I wanted to review nor all the photos I wanted to share. I hope you like books.

Also, I still have #32 which was a memoir of growing up in Oregon from 1974-1992, collecting all the personal childhood stories I have written for my zines over the last 20 years. A surprisingly coherent narrative.

Everything for trade or free.

I made a little handwritten mini-zine about Generalized Anxiety Disorder, my symptoms, and diagnosis, called G.A.D.Zooks! Filled with barely decipherable handwriting and awesome stick figure drawings, it's available for trade (if you REALLY want to buy it, I guess you could.)

Also available (for sale or trade) Issue #1 of my old school tabletop role-playing zine, Six Iron Spikes & a Small Hammer:

It's 16-pages if you count the front and back cover, 14 pages of content. It includes an inaccurate summary of The Island of Dr. Moreau, a silly little map with a cute sea monster that I'm rather fond of, ideas for gaming the Island, and a set of tables for creating your own Beast Folk.

To trade, contact me at  bucketofspiders@hotmail.com or if you're desperate to give me money, my etsy shop:Bucket of Spiders

The latest issue of my perzine, the Ken Chronicles (#32, August, 2014) is now available to all for $3 (postpaid to USA) or possible trade (what have you got?) This issue is digest-sized, 24 pages plus covers, and contains part two (and the conclusion) of my story about all the jobs I've worked in my life. Also, some reviews of movies, zines and music, plus my tale of tabling at this year's Brooklyn Zine Fest, and various random thoughts and oddities.
