Comment by Melanie on August 9, 2012 at 12:02pm I finished up my 24 hour zine on July 30th and it is available for trade!! It is quarter-size; 16 pages and all about my best friend Christy. I lost Christy to cancer in 1995 (when we were 16) on July 30th actually. I just wanted to make a zine about her. The zine is "Dirty July" #2 and if you are interested in trading (or buying a copy) let me know!!!
Comment by Eric White on August 8, 2012 at 4:28pm HEY EVERYBODY! Is anybody out here interested in writing for our zine? Here is a free copy of last month's issue. Liberty Torch Issue 6. Our zine is called the Liberty Torch. It is oriented towards an audience of 7-19 year. So, please be appropriate. We write complete fiction. You can find a bit more info on our WMZ page.
Hope to hear from somebody soon!!!

Comment by Ken Bausert on August 3, 2012 at 4:12pm The latest issue of my perzine, the Ken Chronicles, is ready for mailing. It's got some articles on technology (new iPad, iPod, iPod docks), an update on the 1937 travel journal I discovered in a flea market, some ranting about Florida, reviews of recent movies, books & magazines, interesting people who've recently passed on, among other things.
It's already in the mail to my regular trading partners and available for $2 to anyone else, but I'm always looking to trade for other similar publications (travel-oriented zines, perzines, etc.). Let me know what you've got to offer.
Comment by Catherine Elms on July 8, 2012 at 8:51am Finally, Here. In My Head #10: The University Years, is out now!
£1.20 UK / $2.00 International
It’s 40 pages, half-sized, with a thick paper cover tied together with a pretty ribbon!
Inside, I write about living away from home, academia, making friends, the Student’s Union, and graduation. It’s mostly a collection of stories about my experiences, but there’s also some practical advice for students and would-be students, and lots of lists.
Info on how to buy or trade a copy can be found at http://blatantblithe.wordpress.com/2012/07/07/here-in-my-head-10-no....
Comment by Deirdree Prudence on July 3, 2012 at 7:39pm Gag Me With A... #6 is out! 48 pages, 23 contributors, various countries, various styles of flash fiction, poetry, non-fiction & original art aplenty - it's not an art zine, not a literary zine, it has no spin, it just is. & that "is" is amazing. Get it. Trade for it. Love it. Share it. Email PeterLorreIsDead@Gmail.com.
Be there or be a fucking square.

Comment by Kelly Dessaint on June 22, 2012 at 5:24pm Piltdownlad #4 covers a wide range of topics related to zines, self-publishing and perzines, including a meditation on the first perzine I ever read, the pondering of truth versus fiction in the perzine, the origins of the name "piltdownlad," Dischord Records, who and what I saw at the LA Zine Fest as well as several pages of zine reviews.
The main part of the zine is a confessional narrative entitled "The Nasty Oh-Dear," which details how I ended up a ward of the state of Alabama. This is the first paragraph:
"In 1986, when I was fifteen, I moved from East LA to a small town in Alabama. My father, a sergeant in the Army, was transferring to Fort McClellan outside a place called Anniston. Along for the ride were Joey, my younger brother, and Rick, a friend of the family who was also in the Army. We left LA the day after Christmas. It was the first time Joey and I had ever been out of Southern California. The prospect of a new beginning was like a beacon guiding us across the country. The way the old man talked about it, the South was a land of golden opportunities, where we’d be free to reinvent our lives for the better. Six months later, the old man and Rick were in prison, Joey was in a group home and I was in a mental hospital. For me, things were looking up."
If interested in trading, please contact me here or through my site: piltdownlad.com
Thanks.
