We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Good Morning,

I'm a zinester living in Paris, France, who is doing a research work about zines in Japan.

Being unable to travel myself to Japan directly, and not knowing Japanese, I would like to ask the users of this group some
information about the
Japanese zine scene, maybe by means of an interview. My aim is to do a
review as deep as possible of the diversity and characteristics of
Japanese zines nowadays.

The final report will be published on a Spanish metazine
called Pez
, which is also devoted to studying the zine scene
and other neighbouring areas of interest (DIY clothes, street art, etc).
The issue will be available for free download. We will send a printed
copy to collaborators (we don't have the resources to print as many
copies as we'd like, that's why we keep a digital version for everyone
to print at home). All content will be publised under a Creative Commons
licence (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/3.0/es/).

I'm also interested on trading of my own Fucus zine or buying Japanese independent zines, so I can have some solid base to do my research.

Thank you for your attention !

I hope hearing from you soon,

Teknad

I can try to answer some of your questions, though my Japanese zine knowledge is limited.
If nothing else, I can send you some Japanese zines for your research!
Great ! We can communicate through e-mail (mine is teknad [at] gmail . com) or by ning messages, and then I can send you some easy questions I had in mind. We can also decide how we can make a zine trade (I have a bunch of French zines appart from my own that I can send to you).

Thanks for your fast answer, you're the first person to help me on this topic.
