Cherry Bomb is having it’s first ever sale (and it’s a good one!)

Everything Cherry Bomb is buy one, get one free (only at the storenvy store - DO NOT GO TO THE ETSY STORE!) in order to thank all of you for following the zine and to give some of you a chance to purchase the zine who may otherwise not able to afford it. The sale goes on until the end of Sunday night and buttons are limited in stock so act fast because those won’t be replaced for a while! I’ve also added my perzine into the stock for the sale only in case any of you were interested in taking a look at that.

Zines and buttons make great gifts for the feminist in your life (or the person who maybe needs a feminist awakening) - and they’re also a great way to treat yourself!

Oh, and happy Thanksgiving if you live in America - I celebrated my Thanksgiving last month, but I’ll just go on record and say that I’m thankful for all the women who’ve fought so that we can be where we are today :)

after over a year in the making, this zine is finally finished!

Thou Shalt Not Talk About The White Boys’ Club: Challenging The Unwritten Rules of Punk [click for excerpts]

Touted as being a home for society’s rejects, outcasts, and ‘alternative’ political stances, punk unfortunately often ends up reinforcing oppressive mindsets and ideals by setting up numerous unwritten rules for dress, behavior, personal choices, identifications, and so much more. This zine, written by sari of Hoax and You’ve Got a Friend in Pennsylvania, aims to direct conscious attention to the nuances of being a marginalized person, namely a Gender and Sexuality Minority (GSM), in the punk community. Includes questions intended to incite dialogue among readers and their friends as well as a short list of recommended resources concerning marginalized experiences in punk. B&W, 34 pages, & text heavy. US$2.50. [etsy / well-hidden cash or trades]

Submission Guidelines for issue #4 of my fanzine Muchacha

Theme: “Who Says Feminists Don’t Have A Sense Of Humor?”

The purpose of this issue is to combat the stereotype that feminists are always angry/unfunny/too serious/uptight. I’m looking for satirical/humorous thoughts, poetry, stories, essays, quotes, rants, analysis, art, collages, doodles, comics, or photography from a feminist perspective. Whether it’s half a page or 4 pages, e-mail me at Riotgrrrl56@yahoo.com to submit your work. The deadline is September 1st. Help me in reclaiming the fact that “funny feminist” is not an oxymoron.

Funny Feminists Unite!

Love & Revolution,

Daisy

"Feminist humor raises consciousness. And the reason it's funny is because it stands something on its head. Goodness knows you've got to have a sense of humor if you do feminism full-time, I tell you." - Eleanor Smeal
