Comment by Jenna Freedman on January 13, 2012 at 9:35am I don't see a post yet about the Feminist Zine Fest happening in Brooklyn in February, so here's the link https://feministzinefestnyc.wordpress.com.
Looking for zines!
I want to start carrying other people’s zines in my distro. I’m looking for perzines, compilation zines, humor zines, and literary zines. I wont carry zines that include any forms of bigotry.
If you want to submit your zine for consideration please email: cbcutouts@yahoo.com or message me on here.
Comment by Sari M on January 8, 2012 at 3:38pm CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS - HOAX #7
The topic of Hoax #7 will be feminisms and CHANGE. We are eager for feminists of all backgrounds & genders to submit!
Potential ideas for material include, but are not limited to:
we also totally need lots of artwork (photos, collages, illustrations, drawings, paintings, comics, etc.)! particularly for background designs and things that compliment the written material.
please aim to send us yr amazing material to hoaxzine (at) gmail (dot) com by march 1st, 2012. if you are interested, feel free to e-mail us yr ideas for topics & artwork! as always, we are willing to work with you during any and every stage of the writing process. the sooner you send us yr work, the better!
also, we are still distributing back issues of hoax #3 – feminism & health, hoax #4 – feminism & hirstory, hoax #5 – feminisms & community, and hoax #6 – feminisms & communication, in addition to our perzines. please check out our etsy shop or email us if you would like to obtain any of these issues!
it’s been almost three years since we first began working on hoax. since 2009, hannah montana has been taken off the air, carrie brownstein picked up her guitar again, ugg boots are even more out of style, & those of us in the US can officially be detained indefinitely. neither of us can believe how much this project has expanded since its inception. thank you so much to every contributor, reader, & supporter of this zine!
we are looking forward to seeing yr work!
in solidarity,
sari & rachel

Comment by mina boromand on October 1, 2011 at 1:49pm Hi,
as you may or not know the library has an exhibition at Salford Art Gallery running from 15th October 2011 to 29th January 2012.
I am looking to show a film at the exhibition made up of short videos that contributers to the library have made of themselves. The video will explain why you personally self publish and about the zines you produce. To submit please email me your short talking head videos no longer than five minutes. I will compile and edit these together and add captions for the finished film. All are welcome to contribute to this project and I would like an eclectic range of zine makers to participate covering all the genres etc.
So wherever you are making your zines it would be great to hear from you.
To submit Zines the address is:
48 LANDOS COURT
MANCHESTER
M40 7WT
UNITED KINGDOM
Kind regards
Craig

you’ve got a friend in pennsylvania #5 is now finished!
having worked at in a warehouse for the past month and a half, i’ve spent a lot of time within a “boys’ club” environment. daily struggles with hearing racist and sexist bullshit and making attempts to challenge the mindsets of those around me have left me defensive and drained. this zine, done in 24-ish hours for the dc zine fest, is about resisting militant masculinity on the job, learning how to more effectively call out shitty behavior, and how i have created a safer space for myself (and hopefully some others) at work. b&w, 1/4 size, 20 pages. includes original photography by yours truly! $1 or trade. if interested, please send me a message or e-mail youvegotafriendinpa(at)gmail(dot)com
