The zine I compile, Cherry Bomb, needs submissions for it's fourth issue! If you have something you'd like to submit, I'd love to publish it. Email it to cherrybombzine@hotmail.com and of course you'll get a copy of the zine once it's together :)

Submission Guidelines for issue #4 of my fanzine Muchacha

Theme: “Who Says Feminists Don’t Have A Sense Of Humor?”

The purpose of this issue is to combat the stereotype that feminists are always angry/unfunny/too serious/uptight. I’m looking for satirical/humorous thoughts, poetry, stories, essays, quotes, rants, analysis, art, collages, doodles, comics, or photography from a feminist perspective. Whether it’s half a page or 4 pages, e-mail me at Riotgrrrl56@yahoo.com to submit your work. The deadline is September 1st. Help me in reclaiming the fact that “funny feminist” is not an oxymoron.

Funny Feminists Unite!

Love & Revolution,

Daisy

"Feminist humor raises consciousness. And the reason it's funny is because it stands something on its head. Goodness knows you've got to have a sense of humor if you do feminism full-time, I tell you." - Eleanor Smeal

Feminist perzine 'Here. In My Head #10: The University Years', is out now!

£1.20 UK / $2.00 International

It’s 40 pages, half-sized, with a thick paper cover tied together with a pretty ribbon!

Inside, I write about living away from home, academia, making friends, the Student’s Union, and graduation.  It’s mostly a collection of stories about my experiences, but there’s also some practical advice for students and would-be students, and lots of lists.

Info on how to buy or trade a copy can be found at http://blatantblithe.wordpress.com/2012/07/07/here-in-my-head-10-no....

Other topics range from the “Sandwich Fairies” and homeless rights, intersectionality, a book review, film and band recommendations, original song lyrics, feminist poetry, quotes, punk/feminist styled collages and more!

Hey Alice,

That's a pretty big question. Why don't you try looking at some of the zines that are already out there and see what people are talking about, how they're talking about it, and then maybe do a combination of working from there and also exploring any gaps you see. Also, do some research. Online. If your city/town has a local archive, that could have some interesting local feminist history. Check out your library and report back on things you find interesting. What makes you want to do the kind of zine you're talking about? Talk about that. DIY. Get your hands dirty.
