84 is so much - but we are already jealous of folks who have 116 or 320 or whatnot. It's way to much land - we don't even know what to do with it but we're still jealous! This will be my first summer gardening as well!
84 acres is awesome! ... I've got 6, which sounded huge when I was living in D.C. and now seems small. All in perspective. I'm "off the grid," but definitely not self-sustaining. I telecommute tethering my smartphone and use solar and a generator. I've never really gardened before, but with spring almost here I'm excited to try,
Yeah I know what you mean - same here! I'm just in the research stage and not the doing stage - we own 84 acres but don't live on it yet!
Anything and everything! I'm writing a zine on all the bee related research I've been doing and will probably do a little one on my first garden this year.
What kinds of topics would you want to see discussed? I've been thinking about writing a zine about going off the grid.
I know of a couple (mostly through Pioneer's Press) but I don't love love love them. There's also the Country Grind (rural punk paper) - but also not in love with that one... mostly cuz I'm not 'punk'. Other than that... I'm basically at a loss.
Yes @vicissitudePress that's exactly the problem. Not that many rural or farm zines out there. Thought this group would help with that!
