I write a horror fanzine in the UK called Necronomicon which mainly focuses on reviews of retro horror films, especially b movies of the 80's. Its upto issue 18 now and available here:

I have always done fanzines about things I am passionate about, like bands and films, theres always something a little personal in there but I like being informative and letting people know about rare finds, passing film recommendations on etc

The Original Universe is a genzine about comicbooks. There's a small bit of personal stuff, but I keep it in the editorial section.

I just finished a little Fanzine on the band Sewer Trout, it's free and fun.  If you'd like one, pm me your address for a copy.

Thanks,

Ben

I tried to make "Dildo Machine" into more of a perzine/rant-y thing, but it turned into a weird half-fanzine/half-rant quite quickly. It covers queercore and riot grrrl/DIY feminist music, zines, politics, and movies. I'm working on the second issue, and I'm also editing "Eight And No Halves Fanzine" about 8mm filmmaking and underground movies made using that format.

yep, i hate that. im the other way around, i like to blog about incredibly personal shit, but i wouldnt makeit into a zine, coz there are way way way so many personal zines out there, its so popular! but i like doing my fanzine, i feel like im documenting, and i feel like im the only one documenting the music i like.

i'm just discovering the world of blogs (i know i'm late) and it seems like people who make fanzines are more likely to make a blog nowadays. for instance i just found out about this brazilian punk blog: http://haverasomdefita.blogspot.com/. the thing i wonder is why are fanzines more likely to go the way of blogs than personal zines? why are there still so many perzines in print and not very many fanzines? someone tell me WHY.
