We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I have been researching different platforms for running my distro online and one of these is Etsy. I looked into how I'd go about selling my distro's zines on Etsy and realised there are rules about what you can sell on Etsy.

For example: All items must be handmade by the individual(s) running the Etsy shop.

Does anybody else run their distro through Etsy and have there been ANY problems in doing so? I am most definitely not out to make a profit. Will answer any questions if people have them.

From the FAQ: "Reselling of handmade items is not allowed; all handmade items must be made by the seller. We also allow some non-handmade items in the Supplies and Vintage categories; they must be tagged appropriately."

I have seen people selling other people's zines on etsy... like their kids' or other family members' zines. I don't think running a distro via etsy is okay. But you can totally sell your own! It's fun and easy! :)
I'd have to agree that running a distro on Etsy is a no-no. I sell my sister's zine in my shop but that is because she doesn't have one of her own.
