We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Information

Eco Zinesters

I guess this is kind of vague, but I'm amazed no one made this group sooner. This one's for people who consider the environment within zine-making, whether by writing about it, using recycled paper or whatever :) xox

Paperless Zine? 3 Replies

I'm thinking about going paperless, but then again I know how most people feel about an electronic zine.. how it doesn't feel the same; how the whole essence of a zine is in the paper--the…Continue

recycled materials

I am interested in hearing from people using recycled materials in their zines. I'm leading a zine workshop at an ecofair in my village next month and am keen to find out how people re-use and…Continue

Haha of course that counts! Re-using what most people would likely just chuck in the bin or never even consider putting to further use is what it's all about! :) good stuff...

I know yeah; it really should be policy here. Like we already talked about on the train, it wouldn't really cost a hell of a lot more for everywhere to use recycled paper, and even if it did slightly, it would still be worth it. Silly people... And I really don't understand why they don't let you bring your own paper. That's crazy. I'm thinking of using my Uni's print services but I gotta ask about recycled-ness first.
So frustrating...

I'm finding it a REAL PAIN to get stuff copied on recycled paper. When I lived in Cumbria, it was council policy to use recycled paper, so it was PEASY. In Dudley the council don't give a shit, and I've not found recycled paper an optionin any of the places I've been to, so I ended up having to buy a ream of paper and print my zines at home. It's a bit of a pain in the arse :-(

I know of a few printers that will use (or only use) recycled paper, but I'm not making that many zines, so it's not worth it. pah.
