Hello! I'm originally from the Philippines, moved to Texas yearsss ago, and now ended up in Ft. McMurray AB. Joined the group hoping to make the transition to the canadian zine "scene" a bit easier :)
Hullo! I draw a lot of nonsense while watching movies, and have compiled them in a short Zine called Doodles and Movies. It's a little bit of everything and I'm even offering up a full-colour page of cartoon animals engaged in flatulence. That's like-my best work to date, really.
Hello Canadian zinesters,
I'm going to be talking about zines to a bunch of librarians, mostly Canadian, at a conference in Edmonton next month. Besides these resources from Broken Pencil (http://www.brokenpencil.com/zine-and-indie-culture-libraries and http://www.brokenpencil.com/retail-outlets) are there other specifically Canadian resources I should introduce newbie zine librarians to?
Extra special bonus: any Alberta zinesters out there want to trade zines with me, so I can show them some local magic? You can message me on wemakezines, or just email me at kellymce [at] gmail.
Coming up Oct 26th at the Forest City Gallery in London Ontario is the Graphic Underground: London 1977 to 1990.
This will be a visual display of the posters, artwork, zines etc from London Ontario between 1977 and 1990 which coincides with the start of the punk/new wave era. London was home to several zines during that time period as well as having a vibrant art and music scene.
Here's a link to the website which will feature some of the art to be at the visual display:
There is also a facebook group to find the zines/posters/art etc from that era:
And the opening night party will feature 4 local bands from that era, The Enemas, NFG, The Zellots and Uranus all playing at the APK upstairs in London Ontario.
And also being released on opening night is #24 of What Wave fanzine which will have the family trees of the local bands from the era. Also included will be a 90m cassette featuring almost all unreleased tunes by London bands from the era.

Hey guys and gals, I just released my first zine yesterday, every month I post it up on my site, %100 free for the viewing. With each issue I feature a couple of articles related to photography and photography related artwork, post some images, and with any luck have some fun interviews (unfortunately my first month interview didn't come through in time.). I currently reside in Vernon, BC, which is where many of my photos will come from, feel free to check it out each month.Shutter Buster Issue 1
Hi Zinesters! My name's Dawn. I am a former NYC public high school ESL teacher who taught zine-making to my students. Now, I'm in library school studying to become a community college/academic librarian, hopefully.
Anyway, I am currently in an information literacy pedagogy course, and doing a research process project with the following research question:"How do high school teachers create effective zine projects to help students of all learning abilities improve in their writing skills?"
If any of you have/know of someone who has/or know of resources where I can find information related to this question, please reply to me at the following email address-
