Lemon Pith is a compilation zine that may be more aptly named ‘Bitter Times’ as the purpose of this zine is to offer written revenge to it’s authors. Submissions are welcomed in the form of letters (anonymous or not), fiction, poetry, or art work. Authors are welcome to remain anonymous or to revel in their revenge! The theme of the first zine will be Christmas so please send your Christmas revenge stories to wingedsnail99@hotmail.ca by 10 Dec 2012.

Do you have a box gathering dust upstairs, crammed with old VHS copies of Disney films you just haven't had the heart to throw out yet?

We're looking for photo submissions for a new zine about pirate material. Specifically, pirate material in its clunkiest physical form. Hand-labelled floppy disks, cassettes, VHS. . . we want to see it all!

More information here:  https://aclosedcaption.wordpress.com/6-pirate-aesthetics-call-for-s...

You can submit work by emailing closedcaption@live.co.uk

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Call for Submissions - Violence in Our Own Communities

I’m working on a zine about addressing violence and abuse within our own communities. Here’s all the info:

I am specifically looking for submissions from people who consider themselves part of punk/hardcore, activist, and/or radical communities. These “communities” may or may not be tied to specific geographic locations. I am thinking broadly when I say “violence and abuse” as possibly including emotional, physical, sexual, and/or intimate partner violence and abuse, as well as violence that is based around race, ability, class, gender, sexuality, or other factors. “Addressing” this violence might include prevention, intervention, and/or responses after the fact.

That being said, the questions are up to your own interpretation. You are invited to write as little or as much as you’d like to any or all of the questions, and to focus on a single community or whatever seems most important to you. Please think of them more as prompts and don’t feel limited to “just” answering the questions.

So here are the prompts:

- Please give some background information about yourself and the communities you consider yourself to be a part of.

- What do you believe is the responsibility of your communities to address violence and abuse within them?

- How have you seen violence and abuse actually addressed within your own communities?

- How would you like to see your communities address violence and abuse within them?

- In what ways have your communities been successful in addressing violence and abuse within them?

Please let me know if/how you’d like your name included in the zine along with any contact info you’d like shared so others can reach you directly.

I’m also going to try something a little different with this. If you have contributed to the zine by Sunday, Nov. 24th, you will be able to read all of the other submissions received by then and invited to share any other thoughts/responses. I will also group submissions by location (if mentioned) to hopefully make it easier to connect to people closer to you.

You can send submissions to me at zilla@staykind.com. Please get in touch with any questions and pass this on to anyone else you know who may be interested.

Thanks so much!

I am seeking SUBMISSIONS for a DIY Trans Health zine! This zine will focus on FTM spectrum / CAFAB* healthcare. The goal is as few gender dysphoria triggers as possible as we empower each other to take control of our healthcare. Here is what is wanted:

  • Tested tips for treating common complaints such as yeast infections, BV, and UTI
  • Discussion of barriers and opportunities in healthcare access for FTM spectrum / CAFAB people
  • Information about herbs and supplements to support well-being
  • Discussion of natural and home treatment for depression, anxiety, sleeping problems
  • Treating problems specifically related to transition or things done to create gender alignment, such as treating problems from binding
  • Submissions should use terminology appropriate to the community
  • Where possible, terminology about bodies should reflect what trans men and gender variant people use to refer to their own bodies. Submissions may be edited to standardize terminology.
  • Send submissions to alchemistscloset@gmail.com. Thank you!

Incendies Magazine is a feminist literary arts zine looking for submissions for our fall issue! The theme is BODIES. Accepting any and every creative interpretation! We are looking for poetry, stories, essays, articles, and visual art.

From Toronto, we're a York University based publication. Motivated by the number of sexual assaults on campus, particularly the high amount committed by fellow male students, we seek to be a voice to empower women and be a vocal presence against sexism and gender violence. Please submit today!

We want art, Papergirl style, now!

Papergirl Belfast is now open for submissions. You don’t have to be from Belfast to participate; Papergirl is open to local, national, and international artists. Both emerging and established artists are invited to get involved and all work submitted will be featured in a gallery exhibition before being rolled up and distributed for free via bicycle on the streets of Belfast.

We invite visual artists, graphic designers, illustrators, photographers,
poets and short-story writers, crafters, and zine, comic and sticker makers to submit their work. Musicians can also participate by presenting links to their Soundcloud, Bandcamp or MySpace pages along with their artwork. There are no guidelines as to medium, the only real requirement is that the piece be flexible enough to be rolled up.

Make something that will make someone’s day!
