Comment by Deirdree Prudence on February 28, 2011 at 11:10am I am working on a new zine called " Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow- Living with and understanding alopecia". The title is subject to change. To quickly describe alopecia I can tell you that it is a form of hair loss that leads to patchy baldness of the scalp that can lead to the entire body. It is a perzine/medical zine that gives honest firsthand information from myself after living with it for over 10 years. I'm going to to give facts and discuss my own personal accounts so people can understand the side effects of treatments and make better informed decisions. If any one has any poetry, stories, art, beauty tips, or anything regarding hair loss casued by alopecia it is much welcomed! Feel free to send me a message. I also would be happy to submit art for anyone's zine who is interested. Two examples of my art are on my page. Contributers will get credit, a free zine, and the option to advertise anything they wish to promote, which is all I would expect in return. My postal address is:

I always thought that this was a beautiful quote, full of hope. I liked the idea that people could view the same things through a different perspective. A friend told me this quote meant that some of us were laying on our backs. He suggested something seedy and underhanded. That’s the Filth, too.
The Filth zine is a collection of fiction by various authors. We celebrate the struggle to overcome. We’re pulling ourselves out of a dark, dirty place. We’re vomiting up our drunken late nights, three drinks over our limit. We’re on our backs, our legs wrapped around someone, holding on for dear life. We’re pushing away the ones who would hold us down; jumping off the cliff with the people who protect our hearts as if they were precious. We’re sulking through the night, sleeping through the long winter days. We’re making a world where the person with the sharpest tongue and the quickest wit is triumphant.
We imagine. We create.
The Filth is ALWAYS accepting short story contributions. Our first issue is out NOW. We’re working on a spring issue, so get in touch.

Comment by Joseph Carlough on January 18, 2011 at 1:37pm Having a goofy little time and putting together a small quarter-sized lit mag. Looking for poetry and flash fiction, mostly. It's called Modicum, looking to collect small, short, and charming work, and the first issue's theme is Trees. Head to the Modicum page to find the guidelines and all!
I hope you're well!

Comment by Karley Bayer on December 28, 2010 at 11:47am Admit it. I think we all do it. We fall in love with these fucking people, and they go off and do something so goddamned stupid, but we bite our tongues. We know better than to say anything out loud, so we turn to our journals, our diaries, our blogs, our word processing software and we just LET IT ALL OUT.
I love you,
BUT...
I hate you. You fucking son-of-a-bitch. You stole my heart, and at the time I didn’t care, but now you’re making me regret that decision. Make me believe that I did the right thing, or give it back.
Here is a collection of such letters. You know you have them stored away somewhere, in your closet or your handwritten diary. Now is the time to bring them into the light. Share your madness!!
Now accepting letters for the second issue of BOMBSHELTER.
