Hello!

We are a new zine library at XPACE Cultural Centre (http://xpace.info), an artist-run centre in Toronto, Canada. Starting March 2012 the zine library will be accessible in our main space whenever we are open, during regular gallery hours Tuesday-Saturday, alongside our regular art programming. The zine library will exist with two other library projects: a monthly curated library, which coincides with main exhibits, and the boogie woogie mix tape library, a curated sound project wherein themed mix tapes may be listened to on provided walkmans.

We are always looking for donations! We like any sort of zine, from screenprinted newspaper to hand-bound one-off. We are collecting fanzines, mini zines, comics zines, art zines, and any other kind of self-published work.

I'm going to try and create a zine about adolescence and being a teenager.  Anything at all--artwork, photography, playlists, reviews, pieces of writing, memoirs, essays, fiction, poems, or anything else that relates to adolescence/your experiences as a teenager/etc, would be amazing.  Please email submissions to creativeevolutionzine@gmail.com .  Thanks!!

Food and Feminism: Collaboration Zine

     An entirely collaborative zine that explores the concept of feminism and food preparation. Even though I enjoy food and cooking it feels so fundamentally anti-feminist to be the female in the kitchen and to be choosing these traditional gender roles. Please explore these themes through any medium that inspires you.

Food ABC Coloring Book: Collaboration Zine

   I want to create a food/cooking coloring book zine. Ideally, each letter would be illustrated by a different artist. I will write a sentence or paragraph that illustrates (in words) each artistic impression. This is what will tie the zine together - as each sentence/paragraph will be written in the same voice. The art should be simple line drawings (so that it is easy to color), should feature food in some way and should clearly be about only one letter of the alphabet.

A New zine exploring our queer journeys and misadventures into the world of Awkwardness.

The Misadventures of Awkward Queers is a quest to document our relationship to Awkwardness while navigating the queer spectrum. 

I'm endlessly reminded when I enter queer 'zones' how very easy it is for once simple social interactions to become incredibly difficult and complicated.

Awkwardness has become simultaneously non-threatening and amusing. Its becoming extremely fascinating how we are managing to master our misadventures and embracing Awkwardness. Share your Misadventures....

We want your Awkward stories, adventures, misadventures, anecdotes or advice. The moments you wished you'd forgotten, those that make you laugh hysterically, the sad ones, the raunchy ones, the would have and could have beens. Come and embrace your awkwardness and share share share...
We welcome many mediums of expression , including but not limited to collage, poetry, silkscreens, photos, prose and illustration

The Misadventures of Awkward Queers will not be sold for profit but to recuperate the cost of printing and it will also be available for trading. All contributers will get copies of the zine and be accredited in the zine. Contributors should submit work with the name they would like to appear in the zine (which can also be a pseudonym) as well as city/country and an email address they would like to appear in the zine (if they would like to be contacted) as well as other zine titles they have contributed to. (if applicable)

The plan is to make a full colour zine in A5 (half size) format.

Texts should be no more than 4 pages and artwork should also be suitable for black and white printing.

Deadline : March 31st

The infamous Gag Me With A... issue 6 is looking for YOU to submit! Art (drawings, collage, comics, whatever) & words (fiction, non-fiction, some poetry, lists, etc... must be under 500 words!) of a sub/pop/counter culture spin. It can be about anything as long as it makes an eclectic mix of readers from around the world smile, laugh, cry or nod in that oh-so-hip "touche" kinda way!
