Comment by Cleo on April 11, 2011 at 1:58am Dear Anonymous 2 is on its way and I'm once again looking for letters!
Lessons learned from DA1:
*250 words or less is good (for one page)
*500 words or less is good (for two pages)
So, basically, you're right in the 1 - 500 words range, but shorter is better. BUT, this blog is about expression, and I don't want to force anyone to clamp down on their passion just for me. I'm flexible. :)
As for content, these letters can be confessionals, but they can also be whatever you like them to be. Write to your life, write to your cat, write to your past or your future... Dear Anonymous is about writing the letters of the things you can't say for whatever reason.

Anyone here on deviantArt as well?
I just made the Zinesters group on deviantArt. The group needs members and gallery submissions. Submissions can be anything zine related that you have of your own zines, collections, excerpts, or illustrations.
It's open to anyone who makes, read, or has an interest in zines. Hopefully, with regular contributions, it'll become a semi-active group and a place to find other dA zinesters.
Also, I don't have a group logo/button up yet, but it will probably be one I just slap together since I'm not very handy with graphics. But if anyone feels generous and wants to do a quickie logo, I wouldn't mind either ;).

Comment by NicoleIntrovert on March 29, 2011 at 12:23pm Get Fit For the Pit is a zine dedicated to fitness and nutrition for folks in the punk/activist/etc scene. I have noticed that our subculture puts a lot of emphasis on touring, traveling, going to shows, running on little sleep, etc. These things do not always add up to a healthy lifestyle, especially as some of us are getting older.
I wanted to put a zine out about taking back our fitness and health.
Issue #2 is going to be all about nutrition. Some ideas to get you going...
This is not just about being vegan or vegetarian. (I am actually neither, but respect both diets!) I am looking for essays or information regarding what has worked for you in your nutrition habits. Have you made a change that has made a huge difference for you, perhaps even eliminating symptoms of an illness you may have?
You have the option of emailing me your essay for me to lay out or you can do a half-size layout yourself and mail it in. Please keep essays to roughly 1000 words. I am also looking for cover art, so please get in touch if you are interested! As of now, the deadline for the nutrition issue will be June 15th, 2011.
Email any submissions or questions: getfitforthepit@gmail.com
Mail to: Nicole Harris PO Box 35501 Richmond, VA 23235
Get Fit For the Pit #1 will be out soon, so stay tuned!

Flying Saucer #2 needs your help. I'm looking for essays, photography, short fiction and poetry-there's a loose 'urban' theme, but it's just a. I'm also looking for zines, books, films and comics to review. email me at flyingsaucerproductions@yahoo.com.
thanks!

Necronomicon fanzine needs contributions for issue 18. Its a UK horror fanzine done in a chatty and personal style, mainly about retro horror films from my childhood. Look at the blogpost to get some ideas for contributions you could write and send them to me at necroneil@live.com
Thanks so much!
Comment by Johnny America on March 22, 2011 at 8:50pm “Johnny America,” a little 'zine of fiction and humor published by the Moon Rabbit Drinking Club & Benevolence Society, is seeking submissions for our next, ninth issue. We’re particularly interested in items that work within the very loose theme of “Kansas.”
We’d like to emphasize the flexibility of the theme. A pithy review of Greensburg’s “world’s deepest hand-dug well” would certainly qualify, as would using Kansas as a barely-present backdrop for a short work of serious fiction. Kansas City, Missouri items would certainly be “close-enough,” and we’d be thrilled to consider a crypto-zoological profile of “MoMo,” the Missouri Monster, whose famous and baffling aversion to the sunflower state has never been adequately explained. Fiction, non-fiction, humor, reviews of dive bars or diners -- anything “Kansas” is game.

Comment by Cleo on March 11, 2011 at 12:37am Hi all!
I'm looking for contributions for my first zine "Dear Anonymous". It's basically collecting letters people write when they can't - for whatever reason - say what they want to say to something. They can be one sentence or longer. It is a mini-zine at this point, so no huge letters at the moment.
If you'd like to contribute, I'll send you a copy of the zine. :) Even if it turns out your letter doesn't fit in the first one, I'll still send you a copy. (If you want a copy, include your mailing address so I can send it to you.)
