Travel to Bratfud;
national express coaches leave london victoria and arrive bradford interchange. I've done this trip for £15 return before, it might be more now (£20 round trip?)
The Megabus should be avoided, it drops you off not even in Bradders (near the motorway - fail!)
Alternatively, travel to Leeds by any means, the train between bradford and leeds is £3.90 return. If anyone wants to stay over we can find you a friendly hosuet o stay in :)

Hi everyone,

We have a Gestetner (pre-photocopier printing machine) to create any publicity we want for the Zine Fayre. I've tracked down some images that show the quality and capability of the Gestetner (below). As yet we don't know how much it will cost to use the machine but it will probably be cheaper/more fun that using photocopiers. If anyone has any experience or more images from a Gestetner please share them with the group.

Aw man... I've been looking around online and it looks like London to Bradford takes about five hours, so not really doable in one day. More importantly, though, it also takes about £80 to get there and back again on the bus. And yet you're so close to Leeds, which only costs £15 to get to on the train! It looks like I'm going to have to get my pens out and do some plotting...

the last 2 years there has been a fayre in the day with stalls workshops and food, and gig in the eve. The first year it was all in one venue. It was kinda too small (we sort of outgrew it before we even started - oops) so the second year we moved to a different place, but this meant that the fayre in the day was one place and the gig in the eve was at another place about 3 minutes walk away. It is more likely to be like that this year. there are currently no plans to have it span more than one day! Anyone wanting to stay over, we will find a place for you to stay :)

I've never been to a Bradford do before, so sorry if this is a stupid question... do the fayre and gig take place on the same day? I guess what I'm asking is, is the fayre a one day thing, or is it all weekend?

All of this sounds ace... I am so looking forward to being involved and being there.

I think your points were good, Jen. I just came as a punter last year, good points were for me

 - great open space to have it in, very accessable in the city centre

- workshops going on

 - great mix of people there young and old

  - really diverse mix of zines - from art zines to zines for people with autism to political zines, perzines... and in a real range of formats and styles. Hugely inspiring. coming to the fayre got me started on making zines and I'm now making and curating zines at every opportunity.

 - nice friendly vibe -

 - chillout space.

not so good maybe (though I cant fault it really)

The gap between fayre and gig  - we couldnt stay around so we missed on the the evening event - I think maybe it would be good to do a straight through thing - esp as their is not too much to do in Bradford on a Sunday afternoon.

anyway. cant wait and keep us posted!

we're looking at a Saturday at the beginning of July e.g 2nd or 9th. but ti depends on venue. Sorry to not have something mroe useful to tell you. We wanted to let people know that the zine fayre will definately happen this year, and were too excited to hold it in, but maybe we shoulda waited til we knew when it's gonna be... oops. We're hoping to have a clearer idea by next week :)

Great!

Is there a website specifically for this event? Would also love to know a date for this and how to book a table etc.

Might be a stupid question, but I take it that this is Bradford England and not USA??? If it is would love to attend.
