hey hey hey the call for stalls is on in CANBERRA, AUSTRALIA
the call for stalls @ the CanberraZine Emporium is now ON!
ping pong us an email to: canberrazineemporium.com with your name and zine/s you'll be spruiking . CanberraZine Emporium is part of the awesome YOU ARE FESTIVAL (http://youareherecanberra.com.au/) CHECK IT OUT! Amongst all the fantastico events that’ll be occurring, we’ll be ZINE-ING-IT- UP on SATURDAY MARCH 23rd from 11:00-16:00. please note – this is a ZINE fair thus the call for stalls are for ZINEs only. “the CanberraZine Emporium is of the zines, by the zines, for the zines, zines shall not perish from the earth.” We’re an active bunch of zinestArs who want to promote the healthy cut & paste, paper smudge, typewriter clutter culture of the DIY (do-it-yourself) zine mentality that kicks around this fair country. As space is limited, unless requested – you’ll be sharing a stall with another zinestAr. Ultimate deadline for stall application is 8th Feb.

I was just wondering if you guys know of any good zine/art/craft fairs in and around Melbourne?
Hey All - I've been asked to co-ordinate the TINA zine side of the TINA Sunday fair now - please email me at email@example.com to book a half table or full table stall . Thanks to the support of the NYFW and the conversations happening here, online and in person about the prohibitive cost of stalls, TINA is now able to offer the zine holders free stalls for the event and free public liability to those who need it. It will be a first in first serve basis for tables, but I'm looking forward to seeing all the new publications being made around Australia, and meeting some more new faces at the annual fair. Cheers, Elouise - Smells Like Zines Distro
Oh I don't think it's wrong of TINA - it's their zine fair so they can choose to do whatever they like. From what I hear the insurance cost at least is a requirement of the Newcastle City Council. But inevitably it will exclude a lot of the smaller ziners from participating. Really, who would bother going apart from the bigger comic stores and the zine distros?
I was talking to a distro proprietor about two years ago who mentioned that the TINA zine fair had gone down in quality of recent years. That's sad - I remember how excited I was when I lived in Newcastle and discovered it, when it was still smallish and they just held it in a tiny art gallery.
