ZINE LIB aka Zine Library was formed in June 2009 and aims to showcase and share creative work in the self-published form. The archive sources work through contacting practitioners and word of mouth. There is no curatorship and we don’t wish to be an arbiter of taste. Zine library is completely inclusive and your contribution is important.

Viewing the archive is impossible as we are still insearch of finding a homebase. Zine Library is non Profit and unable to purchase any work. The Archive works on a donation only basis and is run by self-publishing artist Abdul Dube and I DO ART a small culture production collective in Aarhus - Denmark

I am making a call for contributions to the first zine exhibition in Århus(second largest city in Denmark)
working title now is ZINEs IN JUTLANDIA ---- on the flipside of the exhition i will be hosting
A ZineFactory (((Cut, Copy, Collate: zine construction A fanzine making workshop two day long))) .It is directed at anyone interested in Self/Independant publication slash editorial, Zinefactory happens in conjunction with the Nybyggener(Settlers) experiment and will be held at the Ridehuset(ridershouse) in Århus.
Exhibit runs for a week.and ZINE LIBs collection will be moving into the main library for a new zine exhibition 2011.

I f you would like your zine to feature in this first zine explosion In jutlandia pls send your zine contributions to -----------------

ZINE LIBE c/o Abdul Dube Paludan Müllers vej 211 Aarhus N 8200 Denmark.

All contributors will recieve a copy of The Colaborative Zine produced at the Zinefactory Workshop. As a trade for ur zine.

DEADLINE FOR ENTERIES to the exhibtion is 24 November 2010.

for more information, pls feel free to drop me a line

Since June I have been keeping various imagery such as screengrabs, rough artwork sketches etc and began compiling them to be presented in booklet form. In many ways this is what you may call my ‘digital sketchbook’. I pulled together 18 pages and must’ve discarded at least the same again, it was a tough weeding process. When it came to printing I wanted it to have a handmade/DIY feel much like the fanzines I read in my youth. Each copy comes bagged with a badge and stickers while also being signed, stamped and numbered out of 50. The reason for calling it No Portrait is kinda obvious I hope. My aim is to try and make a regular publication but I’m not sure how that will pan out just yet?
I’m sorting out proper online ordering but in the meantime they are £5 + £1 UK/£1.50 EU/£2 US postage. Please email pete@peteburn.co.uk for more info.

Hi all!

I have just released my first zine - a collaboration with twenty up-and-coming illustrators called 'The Music One';

'The concept of this zine is simple - take a handful of music-obsessed illustrators and designers and ask them to do a portrait of their favourite musician or band. Then get each contributor to write a few words about their favourite record by their chosen muse.

This was something of a dream project for me to compile as a self-confessed record nerd and illustrator.

Contributors;

Marcus Oakley
Lewis Heriz
Ben Javens
Lizzie Stewart
Henry St Leger
Jake Blanchard
Alex Jako
Darryl Norsen
Tom Fewings
Mark Oliver
Peter Locke
Dominic Dyson
James Fry
Stewart Easton
Joseph Blakey
Graeme Ross
Matthew Williams
Damon Unwin
Mat Pringle

The eclectic range of musicians covered include the likes of The Beach Boys, Johnny Cash, Francois de Roubaix, Will Oldham, Todd Rundgren, Raymond Scott, Bruce Springsteen, Vivian Stanshall, Porter Wagoner and John Zorn amongst others.

The zine is 40 pages, A5, grayscale and has a screen-printed cover. The initial run featuring Henry St Leger's portrait of Vivian Stanshall on the cover is limited to 150 copies coming in a variety of different colours.'

E-mail me if you would like to trade zines etc.

Thanks!

Mat

New zine of shadow drawings based on photos taken with Oisin age 7 on an unexpectedly hot day last week. Hand cut n pasted and lovingly photocopied on the dodgy copier at the post office round the corner.
