Hi, I'm doing a train tour of some of the places where the classically bearded wonders Bakunin and Kropotkin had some of their grandest hours, writing it up on a blog and turning it into some kind of zine. I just marked down two issues of Fifth Estate, the Anarchist/Anti-Authoritarian mag of ideas and action, to $2. Both are great issues that I've enjoyed tremendously. SUBTEXT-SUBVERSION-SABOTAGE features a lot of interesting, transgressive fiction along with Rachel Pollack's discussion of transsexuality as 'radical change.' And THE RADICAL IMAGINATION OF URSULA K LE GUIN is a FANTASTIC exploration of this feminist, radical sci fi writer's career, with a lengthy article by Le Guin herself about utopia.

Hi all, I really wanted to tell you all about my new Independent, Kerouac’s Dog ® it's is a brand-spanking new, independent quarterly set to form a bold and exciting creative platform for new writing, design, photography, fashion and plenty more. It’s inspired by Jack Kerouac and the 1950s Beat generation and in honour of these, will eagerly exhibit the newest and bravest work and folios, from creatives all over the world. All tied up with key themes of freedom; truth; beauty; love; travel; wanderlust; sex; taboo; and fringe. The whole thing will be beautifully designed and printed top-to-bottom in black and white (because we have a passion for all things black and white).

Issue 1 needs you – The very first Issue. ‘Freedom’ will be released as a limited print-run later in the year, and available to buy online, to a global audience. So we’re calling on creatives for submissions on this theme and this theme only. As the whole thing is in black and white, the only stipulation is that the stuff you send needs to be in – or look gorgeous in - monochrome. It can be old work, or new work, we don’t mind. We won’t be able to pay you, but we’re happy to put names and URLs with each submission used so please send these through, along with your work.

I'd also LOVE to trade with anyone, as I like collecting all sorts myself.

In the next couple of weeks I'll stick together a mini zine about anarchist history in new york. i just had a trip there and drew various of emma goldman's homes etc..
Same address as for the Newcastle one, and keep yr eyes peeled for the BIG ONE, about Siberia etc.. come autumn.

I'm not an anarchist especially, but there's a great article in this new zine by a revolutionary anarchist :)


The new issue of Rebel Grrl Zine is finally available - all 64 pages of it! It's A5 size (half size??) and due to having just paid for printing, I can't afford to trade this one, so it's only available to buy from rebelgrrlzine.co.uk

I publish the zine APMT (Alchemical Postmodern Theorist), a queer anti-assimilationist, anti-capitalist zine. The first issue, out now, is called "The Buying of Queer Culture." My second issue will be about families, called "This is what We Call Family," and will focus on alternative families. I want to include non-nuclear extended familes, chosen families, communities, communes, tribes, the challenges of raising children in a capitalist culture, radical parenting, living with many generations, and critique of nuclear family structure as the only option, just as a very few starting ideas. Do you have a critique of the family to share, or stories about your own family, original or chosen? Let's talk- I'd love to hear what you have to share.
