Zines for children or by children?

I'm running a couple zine workshops for kids (age 6-12) this July.  I would love to have some zines for kids or, even better, by kids that I could have on hand to show off.

 

I only have one by kids right now, a small minicomic about robots and spies fighting each other.  Though I could always use Alexa Kitchen's book Drawing Comics Is Easy too.

Hey, I'm interested in this too. I'm doing a zine workshop at a library in March and the librarian has decided it would be best if I geared it toward kids aged 8 and up. I've never worked with children quite this young before and I'd really like to be able to show them some things made by (or at least for) kids.

I would be interested as well. I recently became a TA at my kids elementary school and was talking with one of the teachers about teaching a zine class next year as a "special". If I had some kids zines to show, it would help in teaching the class.

Not exactly zines... but Marek Bennett has done some neat comics workshops with kids in both America and Nicaragua. He may have some information and/or resources that can help you out. He has blogged about this on his website:

There's this awesome dude, Christoph, and he does a zine called "28 pages Lovingly Bound with Twine". he has a rad little kid who is maybe 9 or 10, and i know he's done at least one zine. see if you can track that down.

Matt Fagan, of Love and Meniscus also does lots of mini-comics, most of which are cool and weird, but also appropriate for younger audiences.

Check out Subgroup Cursive and Dusty Wing put together by Tod Sahonchik, they are zines made by and for kids. Her son also makes his own zine.
