We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Hey friends. Does anyone know of a traveling zine library in the U.S.? I remember the Mobil Livre project but I think they're no longer doing that. I'm wondering if there are zine resources for people who don't live near a major city.

Oh ya! I remember that. I think at one time there were two mobile zine libraries going around. I know that Chella from Adventures in Menstruating has a mobile menstruation zine library that she takes around with her. It's pretty rad. I gave her one of my zines about getting and IUD when I was in the UK.
I don't believe i know of anything of the sort.

Here in Richmond we do have Books on Wheels which is a mobile free book store/bike repair.
I don't know of anything since the bookmobile project went kaput. The issue is money. I would love to do a project like that, and maybe someday I'll get it together grant-wise (though I think the BP/PM's customized airstream is already sold, dang it). The only projects I know if are only locally mobile. Maybe we'll hear of something new! ---Margarat
I know, for real, it would be completely awesome. Do it! I just spoke to these folks in Missoula, MT called Slumgullion who take their distro and library around town on a converted "jogging stroller" for babies! http://www.slumgullion.org/

Thanks for your input everybody. I'll keep looking for more things like this.
not quite a traveling zine library, but mayhaps along the same lines:
