We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

So, I've decided to write a new zine called, "Jargon."  It will be a listing of slang terms from all different aspects of life.  I will do a page on casino slang, my friend Krystle is doing "Diner Slang," and so on.  Each person can submit 5-10 terms.  I need everything in by the end of July, then I can print it by Portland Zinefest.

If you have any ideas, let me know.  A couple people will be doing more than one set of slang terms.  And so far no one has taken "Zine Slang," so that category is still up for grabs.

So yes, get it to me by the end of the month.  Sooner the better.  And let me know what (if any) contact info you'd like included.

Thanks!  rock on!

I'm not trying to be a grammar jerk, but jargon and slang are not actually the same thing. Not sure if that was intentional or not.

Very interesting link!  I hadn't thought much about the difference between the two, but there was one sentence in there that summed up my goal:

"One really important aspect of both slang and jargon is that they identify you as a member of a group."

I really like how different groups use different words, and that is what this zine will show.

Awesome.  :)  I'm really interested in reading it.

This might be a little too obvious but what about Internet Slang?
