Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 4, 2009 at 8:45pm No offense, but I've got a policy of never submitting anything to anyone who's still planning their first issue. Why should I bust my ass writing something for someone with no track record? Why wouldn't a person with material just print it up themselves instead of sending it to you- ESPECIALLY if it's a good sex story?
It doesn't make sense.
This place is rife with people excited to do something, and posting all about it, and, ultimately, doing nothing.
How 'bout you fill your first issue with YOUR stories...and then ask others to submit stuff an issue or two down the road?
That's a question I'd like to ask ANYONE who comes on here asking for submissions.
Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 4, 2009 at 8:49pm I'm annoyed because it seems like this is the 15th proposed first issue about sex I've seen since I first logged into this place. The first issue is never about plumbing or anal fissures or snail husbandry. Nope...they always go for the big one: SEX. Big deal...I like sex, but I also like dropping a deuce. I haven't seen a lot of first issues on THAT topic.

Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 5, 2009 at 12:15pm Hi, I would like to contribute to this, if I get some time before the deadline. :) Do you want a finished page, or just an article to edit & lay out?
Oh yeah - what is the deadline?
I'm just looking for content, not a finished page. But, anything you'd like to contribute would be more than welcomed. Currently, the deadline for rough content is November 10th. But, I just need something rough to fill space then. I can give you an extension if you need it. The final product will go to press on the 16th. Just e-mail me at freebraincollective@gmail.com Also, if you'd like to submit something for future issues, I'm always down. :)

Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 10, 2009 at 1:33pm Yo Mulnix, you can mail Larongitis the apology, and send ME the ten bucks! then we'll all be happy!
I totally hear what you're saying. I've written some great stuff that never got printed, and it's frustrating. but now I just save a copy for myself. if the zine i contribute to doesn't come out, then i publish it myself down the line.
If I get a chance, i'll try to write something tonight and email it to you! But i'm currently trying to finish a new issue of MY zine for the MKEzinefest this weekend! ha, you know how that goes...

Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 10, 2009 at 1:49pm Don't think all ziners are the same. I wish you lots of luck on your first issue. You'll do fine.
Permalink Reply by Larongitis on November 10, 2009 at 9:44pm Don't get beaten down by the peanut gallery here. It's mostly harmless.
Just do your thing and ignore the negativity. It's displaced creative people. They become critics when they aren't cranking out gems.
But it is a bummer that this stuff seemingly inevitably turns into hatin' on some shit when all you are looking for is people to collaborate on some brilliance.
That said, I would contribute something but I'll be on the train for the next 2 days. I could probably get you something next week but maybe it's too late....?
