Alex is a zine about "the lived experience of gender" and Issue 2 is all about bras. I conducted a survey asking folks who wear bras all about puberty, childhood, first bras, embarrassing moments, empowering moments, and of course, one's hopes and dreams for the "perfect" bra. Includes an intro story and my personal essay on the topic. The zine itself includes collages and artsy touches. There's nothing to wonder about... get yourself a copy!
A new issue of my mental health zine functionally ill is out and available for trade. Please contact me here or at robotmad (gmail) to arrange trades. Thanks very much.
Issue ten is about using the word crazy, what mad love means to me, how my crazy manifests, and how I feel about my best friend Arrow's self-harm.

Bit more info over here -
Margaret Kilgallen (1967-2001) was a painter and a graffiti artist, a member of the Mission School art movement in San Francisco in the late 1990s, along with her husband, painter Barry McGee. Kilgallen was prolific in her short career, which ended with her death in June 2001. This zine is about my search for more information and insight on Margaret and her work, and tells the story of my own artistic journey as well as thoughts on art in general.
There is more about the project here: http://miss-sequential.blogspot.com/2011/09/meta.html
The cover was block-printed from a block I carved by hand and printed on paper bag card stock.
The zine is quarter-sized (4.25 inches x 5.5 inches), and is 24 pages long (not including the cover).
It can be ordered through my shop on Etsy. If you need to order some other way, please email me at thimblewinder [at] gmail dot com and we'll work something out.
Printaissance #4 : The Fall of the American Empire is new available!
The fourth issue is a socio-political lit zine which uses historical accounts, modern day headlines, poetry, angry hippie insights and more to compile this ranty look at the parallels in the fall of Rome and the looming fall of the 'American' Empire. It is titled The Fall of the American Empire as a foreshadowing, and foreboding, hint at this possible future that it seems the United States is barreling towards. This issue is certainly an opinionated romp through the darker side of our country and is not for the faint of heart.
Issue 4 (41 half page pages / available for trade)
Drastic Frivol 1) Travel is 46 pages of stories and ruminations on diverse travel experiences and difficult return. There's also an essay on the German notion of Fernweh. The interior art was mainly clipped from 19th century geography books.
It is available for USD $2 or €1.50 plus postage and can be sent either from the US or Germany. Contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like a copy.
