Photo submissions: “can you hear my cries”, genders speak out," and “going underground.”
Permalink Reply by stranger two stranger on April 16, 2012 at 10:52pm The third volume of my mini comic Stranger Two Stranger was recently reviewed by the Optical Sloth. Here is a snippet:
For those of you who haven’t been reading this series, a quick recap: R. Hendricks finds some of the more ridiculous/heartbreaking/bizarre Craigslist ads about missed connections and illustrates them. His illustrations generally elevate these ads into another art form entirely, and I’ve been thoroughly impressed with his efforts so far.

Permalink Reply by Mel W. on April 18, 2012 at 7:43pm I write a perzine called Cadillac Girl, the last time I published the zine was 6 years ago and now I'm starting it back up again. It is a black and white zine, about half the size of standard copy paper. Please feel free to submit writings, pictures, photos, etc... I am willing to trade, and I'm looking for a good distro if any could recommend one.
View my profile or the web page for info on the zine, view past issues, and to request copies. Thanx!
Permalink Reply by redhoodedm on April 20, 2012 at 6:26am INSPIRADO is a collaboration with my friend and fellow Somerville artist Megan Mary Creamer.
Inspired by the art chats we have over tea at a local cafe, this zine takes the form of one of our conversations, showing each of our perspectives on several topics related to our art and process. The layouts feature both of our work, so you can see the results of the processes we discuss.
This zine is printed in black and white with a limited edition cardstock cover silkscreened with blue metallic ink.
5.5 inches x 7.5 inches, 16 pages. Awesome.
Available now online, available locally at the Somerville Open Studios 5/4-5/6.

Numerous show reviews and album reviews. This has a whole lot of pacific northwest music. Murderess, Black Queen, Dogshredder & more.
Plus Stanton Moore Trio and Melt Banana (a few others)

Permalink Reply by Deafula on May 6, 2012 at 7:57pm the newest issue of Deafula is out, hooray! #3 is about spokesperson anxiety, identity politics in deaf culture, how to take a relay call, and a list of the top five awesome things about being deaf (ever wonder what silence is like for deaf people? or the sound of music or water?) and the top five stupidest things (i get a little riled up about talk radio and stand up comedy. heh.)
i letterpressed the covers (myself!) and it's 36 pages, quarter sized. you can buy it from me directly for 3 dollars, postage paid. email me for my addy at thecityonfire@gmail.com. or you can buy from etsy. also i LOVE trades and will totally trade for your zine. i especially like perzines and zines that are stories or memories or about hard times or good times or transitions or positivity, but i will pretty much read whatevers.
