Menses Zine Submissions wanted

I received a great zine today all about, you guessed it - periods.

I think it is a brilliant idea, and now I want to make one of my own. So here's what I'm thinking: I'd like to invite anyone to send me
a story that relates to their first period (or anything about those
early years). It can be long or short, funny, sad, surprising or
whatever. You can describe your "first", write a list of different coy
names for it, give advice on dealing with cramps or avoiding leakage,
send me some bad poetry, tell me about any rituals you have/or had
around your menarche, talk about your fears, your embarrassment with
the whole topic (if you are still reading this, you can't really be all
that embarrassed, now can you?) send in some artwork (that will still
look good when it is photocopied in black and white) and/or share
whatever else you'd like.

Please send your submission to me either by private message, or by email (ko DOT misti AT gmail DOT com) I'd like all submissions to come
to me electronically, and I'll assemble them into a cohesive zine. Please include with your
submission the "name" you'd like your story credited to (it could be
your whole name, just your first name, a pseudonym, or anonymous) and
your email address. If you would like a copy of the zine when it is
done, then please also include your mailing address and I'll send you a
copy. Your email and mailing addresses will NOT appear in the zine, but
without them, I won't be able contact you or send you a copy.

Please be advised, that by sending me your story and/or artwork, you are agreeing to have it printed and copied for the purposes of this
zine.

Deadline: I'm not sure yet, but I'll post here when I've finished
collecting submissions. If you are unsure, feel free to shoot me a
message.

That's excellent. I'm not sure when the deadline is yet, it really depends on how many submissions I get (hopefully lots!). In any case, it'll be a few months at least. I can't wait to see what you come up with.

Oh, okay, that's just fine. I just need a couple weeks to finish moving and get though my first set of exams :) I'll send you something soon.

This is a really good idea! I like that you are taking a real, honest approach. I might see if I can whip something up to submit.

Thanks for your interest in my menses zine. That would be great if you sent something. The finished zine will be 1/2 size, but you can use more than 1 page if you like.

I have an article I wrote about the environmental impacts of disposable pads/tampons and greener options you can take. Does that sound like something you'd be interested in for this zine?

this sounds interesting. I think I might submit something too if i have some extra time before the new semester starts if not I'd still like to get a copy of the completed zine when its finished :)

yes, elizabeth, that sounds like something I'd be very interesting in including! and mycrimescene, I'd be thrilled if you were able to come up with something between semesters - it doesn't have to be long or anything - even just a list type thingie, or a short quote would be great. I'm hoping to get a range of different types of submissions so that things don't get too repetative.

I wrote a really long piece for my own zine years ago. I could revise it and shorten it if you weren't too precious about exclusivity.

ALSO: im thinking of putting together a menstrual porn/erotica/documentation zine, if anyone is interested in the more visceral side of things, please send me a message.

Yes, I would be very interested in this, and I am not at all hung up on exclusivity. If it's yours, it's yours to use as you like, and I would be very grateful if you chose to share and allow me to include it in my zine.
