We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

I'm looking for submissions for a one-off zine called I'm Not Like Other Girls.

What I want women and girls to do is to complete the sentence,
"I'm not like other girls because..."

I will make a zine of the responses.

The sentence will appear randomly placed, with all credits at the end, so your sentence and your credit aren't linked. This may help you to be more open, and the zine will flow much better too.

They may be categorised by theme, but that will depend on the submissions.

If you want to contribute, email me at incurable.hippie@googlemail.com

1) Put 'I'm not like other girls' in the subject line.
2) Email me your sentence (I'm not like other girls because...)
3) Tell me if you want to be anonymous.
4) If you want to be credited, tell me how (name / pseudonym, name of zine, etc)
5) If you want to receive a contributors' copy when it's ready, tell me your address too.

I can't guarantee your words will be put in the zine, but it's very likely. I only want submissions from women and girls.

Thanks!

I say free post for everyone!

maybe this is my freaky American recession living perspective... but free post would screw up a lot of stuff. (auctually sometimes I lean socialist, but shh! I might get burned at the stake.)
like what?
and, uh, keep in mind that plenty of other places are having a recession... like Canada. and Europe.

No duh. I, strangely, might have known that. Hmm. How? Oh, right! I know! It's in the newspaper! gee golly wilikers!I am an American that reads the paper. Now aint that something.
sorry. I'm just said recession as in "i've been hearing a ton of stuff about how we should go bail out the auto industry and how we should all go spend lots of money to make things work again". I don't know if you get hte same stuff.
... oh wow. overreaction much.

I am in no way against Americans. my best friend is American.
People don't always know what's going on in other countries, and the way you worded your response made it seem like America is the only place having a recession.
Sorry. You're just making me feel like the ignorant American here and it's really annoying. (Yes, many Americans ARE bozos, but like I said, I'm not going there.)

I said nothing bad about Americans. I was simply mentioning other places are having problems. I forget Europe is, because it's always seemed so strong in the past. I know sometimes people forget Canada is, because we're doing better than a lot of places. but it's still happening.

and I don't think many Americans are bozos, at all. all the Americans I know and trade with here are lovely people. I find that offensive. you can't really complain about thinking people are calling you ignorant, and then call the rest of your country-folk ignorant.

On a different note, I think spending our way out of global recession is a bad idea. It reinforces the capitalist bollocks that caused it in the first place, with people spending money they don't have, including the environmental and social damage caused by constant unnecessary production :-S
I completely agree. there's way too much dept already.
I'm terrified by how much student loan dept I'm accumulating, I definitely can't add EXTRA dept for things I don't need.
