We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Apologies if this has been posted before, but I've been poking around and haven't found much. I'm interested in starting a zine distro and I was wondering how one does this? Any distro-ers have any tips? Advice?

I'm thinking I want to start out with a distro and then one day after I graduate college embark on opening up a brick-and-mortar zine store in my hometown. :)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated <3

I've run my distro since 1992 (with a decade long hiatus from 2000-2010).  When I started I just put the word out to my friends who did zines to send 10 copies in and I went from there.

I do almost everything on consignment, that way you don't have to worry about fronting money.  BUT I'm also scruplulously honest and pay everyone on time everytime.  Don't be a deadbeat distro!  There are enough of those!

Good luck -- any other questions drop a line...
