a place for zinesters - writers and readers
Anybody know what's happening with these guys? Their site seems to be up. I can't tell when the last post was on their blog, nothing's dated.
They still owe me $6.35 for zines not delivered. I've emailed and snail mailed more than once, never got a single reply. This was for an order back in the late spring of '11. Summer of '11 was a real bummer, zine-wise, no zines from Gigglebot, Fall of Autumn or Microcosm. Microcosm was, I found out later, moving it's distro from Indian to Kansas and I eventually got one of the zines I ordered after waiting 4 months.
All this has made me pretty fed up with zines in general, and distros in particular.
"Old Weird America" was the main zine I was looking for and I finally got one issue. It was alright. I guess the author had some luck getting her stuff published in mainstream publications, too. My best memory of it was when she asked a high-powered wall-street guy she had met while working her sleazy stripper peep-show job, she asked him what cologne he was wearing and he said, "just cigarettes and sweat, baby". I actually exchanged a couple emails with the author and she offered to send me a copy of the zine. I gave her my address and never heard from her again. Rose White is her non-de-plume, I guess. Don't know if she ever put out any more zines. Doesn't really matter.

Ist preference given to distros and zines. Rates and details are here. Limited space. Very Low Cost!
