We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Do you have a website/blog for your zine?

I'd love to check it out and possibly link it to my zine's blog. Do you get a lot of feedback or new orders and trades from your site/blog?

What kind of information do you tend to post about your zines? I wanted somewhere I could post new issue updates with photos, but also talk about zine things I've been doing (workshops, events, reading), the creative process, post excerpts of upcoming zines, etc.

I just started mine this past week. It's also a nice little thing to be able to put in the back of my zine/on flyers/etc.

I started off with a Facebook group (http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=78781794583) because it was easy and a simple way to let people know when new issues are out and show photos.

On January 1st, I'm going to be starting a new blog after a couple years away from the blogosphere. http://alongwaltz.blogspot.com/ is the address and it'll be perzine-style day-to-day updates, zine reviews, photos, and other things where the immediacy of the Internet might have an advantage over zines.
I've found that my art and literature zine/journal has fallen woefully behind the constantly evolving technology. Though we've had a site for about two years, I think the fact that it's a freewebs site and my lack of use of other promotional avenues like facebook, myspace, etc has hurt us. Though we have fairly large distribution across a number of states, I recently discovered a lot of other journals in my area were getting more media publicity simply because they had well designed sites, domain names, etc, even though I am confident that our content and overall readership between print and online versions is much larger.

For anyone interested, you can check out our website at http://www.freewebs.com/khubzine/, or become a fan of Khubz on facebook at http://www.facebook.com/#/pages/Khubz/210414608122?ref=ts
I have a more general blog at http://primitivepeople.livejournal.com that sometimes mentions zines, but more usually covers a lot of other things. I should write about zines more often...anyway - I'm always keen to meet new people, so do go and look.
Yeah, I've got a website which also has my photographs

I've got one at http://hannahrama.com/frothy. There are descriptions of all my zines (which I need to update with my two latest mini-zines) as well as a blog, which I haven't updated in months. I can't get behind it fully because I feel like having a website about zines is kind of like having a band about books; it only makes sense about ten percent of the time. But Harry and the Potters are doing well, so I guess there's hope?

In any case, I would be happy to exchange links with whoever is so inclined.
