Dairy River is accepting submissions for Volume 11!  I posted this in the call for submissions group a couple weeks ago, but I figured I'd cross-post it here for good measure.  Drop us a line (dairyriver [at] gmail.com) -- we'd love to hear from / collaborate with you!  Keep the following in mind:

(1) we especially like submissions relating to the built environment, music history, and critical theory;
(2) submissions are accepted on a rolling basis;
(3) we post accepted submissions online immediately -- sometimes even sooner;
(4) we eventually compile all accepted submissions into a print zine;
(5) we regularly consult with an entity known as "Silver Univnron" before making big decisions.

are you trading, or selling your zines? it sounds great!

Submissions wanted for Sonorus: feminist perspectives on Harry Potter zine!

sonorus flyer

Sonorus is a new zine, created by three UK-based Harry Potter fans and feminists.

The aim of this zine is to see what feminists think of the Harry Potter series (including the books, the films, the cultural phenomenon and the fandom), for Harry Potter fans to look at the series in another way, and to put the spotlight on the numerous female characters in the world J.K. Rowling has created.

Details, including writing prompts, can be found at http://sonoruszine.wordpress.com

NB: deadline has been extended to 01 SEPTEMBER 2013.

Not sure you are correct when you state you own the rights to submitted work. Technically, you are asking for the artists permission to use their works, but the creator owns the rights to their work.

Hi b stein,
We don't presume to own anyone's work :) It actually says "you retain all rights to your work." We want artists to keep all rights to everything they submit.
Thanks!
Jackie

I am beginning an all black and white photography zine. Name/title is pending, but I've got an idea for a theme and I want help from whoever out there is interested in helping. This first issue's theme is 'Beauty'. Wanting single images, photo essays, photos with words, photos of letters/words, whatever.

Can be about your own beauty regimen, your friend/girlfriend's/boyfriend's beauty regimen, your beauty products, makeup and cosmetics, hair, your idea of beauty, feeling ugly, feeling really pretty, feeling superficial, that bitch that called you ugly, that perv that called your feet beautiful, whatever! I'm leaving the interpretations up to you guys and will - of course - have my own art involved as well. Don't forget to leave me a name and all your zine and zine or personal contact info to include along with your work in this issue.

ALMOST FORGOT!

**The page and paper format will be the standard 1/2 page (8.5x11inch paper folded in half to 4.25x5.5inch). This is subject to change based on the scale and overall coolness (and I know they will be SUPER COOL!) of the submissions I'm able to collect.

If interested email your info and files to branch.ck@gmail.com until I get a separate email address for this zine which has yet to be named. Thanks guys!

Cheers!

- Christian
