a place for zinesters - writers and readers
I just finished an issue of Junk Zine and walked down to Merlyn's where Bird's Nest Zine Library is housed. I asked at the desk if they were open and the guy said, "They've been long gone, for a year or more."
There was nothing in my Inbox (they'd mass e-mailed to that in the past), nothing on their facebook page, which is still up, and I don't see anything here about it on WMZ.
I can understand burnout or a discouragement from a lack of public interest, but couldn't they at least of written a "Quick and Easy!" e-mail, post or "tweet" letting everybody who'd donated & been involved that they were folding?
Well, what am I whining about? I guess this kind of thing is pretty much par for the course in "the zine community".
