a place for zinesters - writers and readers

anyone know of a typewriter repair zine?

here i am, trying to work on a new ish, and i'm very attached to using two specific typewriters for this one, because of their fonts. but one of them keeps getting harder to deal with and it's frustrating! there is a repair shop in town that i am considering dropping in to, but the things wrong with it are tiny and i bet i could fix them myself. since i'm in zineland i was thinking about how spectacular a typewriter repair zine would be!

does anyone know if something like this exists?

I don't know of any zines though I think that's a great idea, I wish someone would do one. With my typewriters, I usually just google info and have found youtube to be really useful for maintenance/ repairs. It depends on what typewriter you have, I struck gold with one of my electric typewriters - someone had a whole channel dedicated to repairing and maintaining them. Another place to check out is the yahoo typewriters group - the people there are total typewriter fanatics and know a lot. Good luck!

I totally got a typewriter repair book out of the library once intent on creating a zine. I didn't end up doing it.

Oh, shit. Do it! I've done some minor typewriter repairs and have an old repair book... some things are easier than others. I got myself a set of teeny-tiny screwdrivers and spent the better part of one winter trying to fix a Coronamatic. The parts can be hard to get. Way more frustrating than a bicycle. I'd totally read/buy a zine about doing typewriter repairs!
