We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Sorry this isn't quite 'zine related, but I am hoping to put out a 12" LP in the near future and am looking to handmake the covers. For one of these parts I will need to have an image copied onto A2 card (or something around the size of a standard LP cover). Ideally it would be 250gsm, but could make do with something a little flimsier. Unfortunately all the places in London, UK, I find that print will only do so in colour and it is prohibitively expensive (around £10 per unit). It doesn't really seem unreasonable that I could have something photocopied on to A2 card, but my searching capabilities mean I have not been able to find anywhere. I don't suppose anyone out there has any suggestions? Even a suggestion of where I could get record sleeves printed could be useful. I think I would hope to pay no more than about £2 per unit, but this is a purely arbitrary number that I have come up with. Any help would be greatly appreciated. thanks in advance.

I would suggest that you look for a letterpress printer in your area. They generally dig jobs/projects like this and the size that you are talking about is not a problem at all for most letterpress-capable shops.
Here is a quick link that I found where these folks can do the LP jackets in color: $575 for 500 pieces, $750 for 1,000 pieces.
