We Make Zines

a place for zinesters - writers and readers

Old zines we wish we could find:

Since this is a forum for zine nerds, maybe here we can say "oh I wish I could find a copy of (blah blah blah) zine" and some other old fart can say "oh that zine, I have a copy of it in my attic!" and then we can trade, everyone goes home happy.

Does anyone remember a zine called: "The I Hate People Gazette"? It was late 80s/early 90s and was done by some sort of horror obsessed, goth kid from Maryland (I think). Anyone who has info, let me know? http://www.csh.rit.edu/~diablo/icon/icon15.html This is a defunct website, with no current informatiom, but that picture is fuckin awesome.

Also, a Montana based punk fanzine called "Shat Apon" (or Shat Upon) .. Anyone? anyone?

I'm sure there's more...

Left Bank Books has reprints of one of the Bikini Kill zines right now, as well as Kathleen's zine about Evan Dando.

Today at the big Half Price Book Store here in Dallas, the biggest used bookstore we have, I found a copy of Cometbus #30. I would have bought it but it was priced not to sell. I think something like $12.

I would really like to sift through boxes of old stuff at my parents' houses and find the first per-zines I ever read, stuff like Rock Star With Words.

Yeah, I definitely wanna get my hands on some old riot grrrl zines, like Bikini Kill, Girl Germs, et cetera.

jolie noggle has a decent amount of old riot grrrl zines. she sold me a few reprints. they were honestly a little hard to read because they're so old and being a copy of a copy didn't help, but i got april fools day, i think two issues of bikini kill as well as two of girl germs, reggae chicken, i'm so fucking beautiful and a few others. i bet if you message her she'd gladly still reprint more for others.

i'd still really love to find more of them and especially jigsaw youth!

I actually did message her about them recently! I'm trading a bunch of my own zines for some riot grrrl reprints. Hopefully they'll show up in my mailbox this week. Maranda had a bunch of them but I never had a chance to read them before I moved.

I know the first one is a long shot, because really things tend to NOT leave alaska once here.... but if aynone has any copies of "Your Square Life" by Lee Post I'd love to get my hands on those.

On the more likely front there was this awsome guy who lived up here when he was growing up named Rex, and had than lived in Pensicolla for a while, and last I had heard was in Seattle. I can't remember the exact name of his zine, something like "Pthhhh", I know pronounced correctly it was the raspberry noise you make with your tongue out. I would LOVE to get a hold of any copies of that, and especially the video zine he had done a few issues of. I leant my copy out and never got it back (the story of so many of our lives I'm sure...).

I would love to find "Adventures in Menstruation" # 2 and # 3. I tried to buy from lots of distros, but nobody has a copy of it indeed.
