Victoria Baths Fanzine Convention, Manchester

A fanzine festival in the beautiful, historic setting of Victoria Baths in Manchester (an Edwardian swimming baths which was saved from dereliction by a band of local volunteers and now acts as a venue for diverse community, cultural and art events, http://www.victoriabaths.org.uk/) as part of the annual Future Everything festival (http://www.futureeverything.org/) of digital culture.

The day will look at how and why fanzines and the printed word still have a role and relevance in an increasingly digitised world, with speakers, films, workshops and exhibitors considering 'The past, the present and the future' of fanzines.

The event consider how fanzines have had to change and adapt for the modern media landscape and, in some ways, work hand in hand with new technology.
