Event Description

Happening at rampART social centre, London: a night of queer performance, DJs, zines and general mayhem!

Sister Spit is a queer/grrrl performance troupe from the US led by Michelle Tea, author of Valencia, Rent Girl and other books which make the heart beat fast.

She brings with her a fabulous line up of queer performers, writers, zinesters & artists who will blow away any preconceived notions about spoken word and take you on a rowdy & raucaus literary adventure!

The Line Up:
MICHELLE TEA (www.myspace.com/michelletea), author of Valencia, Rent Girl, Without a Net and more...

RHIANNON ARGO (www.rhiannonargo.com), author of the novel The Creamsickle, about genderqueer strippers, tiny stolen dogs, curbside drug dealers and messy femmes!

CRISTY ROAD (www.croadcore.org), author and illustrator of Indestructible and Bad Habits, about self-medication, punk rock, feminism, Cuban-American families and girl crushes!

KIRK READ (www.kirkread.com), performance art provocateur and author of How I Learned to Snap, about theater fags, high school and the American south!

CHELSEA STARR, writer, DJ and fashion designer, whose zines and chapbooks explore sex work, small town lezzie bars and broke-ass childhoods!

KAT MARIE YOAS, who wrote about class and curly hair in the anthology It's So You; prone to busting into psychokiller housewife performance personas!

EM LEDGER (www.myspace.com/theworldsamesszine)
Based in the UK, Em runs riot grrrl collective Lola and the Cartwheels and writes 'The World's A Mess and Yr My Only Cure' zine.

Also featuring DJ Rockit! And more tbc

zines and food!
